Shopping around for drugs-where to start?

Hi everyone, I should be getting my prescription on Tuesday and would need to start shopping around for the drugs. I have never done this before as my first IVF was NHS funded so all was sorted out for us. I’m not really sure how to go about it, which pharmacies to check etc. Any advice please?

Hi kari, I wish you lots of success with your next round. I have just done a frozen cycle self funded and Asda was by far the cheapest chemist. They do not add any profit onto ivf drugs.

You can call them for a quote and then you need to drop the prescription to them. They did take a few days to get some of the items in so do give yourself plenty of time. Best of luck xx

Also try Stork pharmacy, found they were a third of the price of even ASDA. You send them a picture of the prescription and they send you a quote back. I saved over £600 with them. ASDA is good if you have to get a top up at short notice like i did. Good luck xx

We went direct to Stork as they were only £20 more expensive than Asda. Asda you have to drop the prescription off then pick it back up but Stork deliver, hassle free to your front door. I guess cost always depends on what your medication is too.

Good luck with your upcoming cycle xx

Brilliant - it’s definitely worth shopping round isn’t it. I can’t believe the price can vary so much but so glad to hear you saved some money.

Wishing you lots of luck with your cycle 🤞🏼 xx

It still cost £2k but that’s better than £2500 😊 It should be regulated by law for clinics and pharmacies to not to make profit on ivf drugs.

Thank you, I hope you are doing ok xx

I used Fertility2u.

It’s an online pharmacy and was half price compared to Asda, including delivery!

Definitely have a look into their website and consider asking for a quote.

Any question I’m happy to answer x

Good luckxxx
