clomiphene citrate

Hello,

I have been struck by another bad new: my only egg retrieved after 4 MNC cycles was of bad quality. I have been reading scientific paper and found this one that projects successful results with using clomiphene citrate

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/266...

Does anyone of you have tried this supplement during the protocol. Apparently it comes in the form of a pill that you have to take from day 3 to 7 of your cycle.

Thanks for your feedback!

ps: I had to do the homework of coming up with the idea of the clomiphene citrate and my consultant said that 'he was open to it'. Sometimes I wonder if this guys are doing their jobs in reading some of the latest findings???

I've not tried it but good luck, Please can you share how it goes with everyone?

Of the 2 consultants we've seen 1 was really dismissive and honestly seemed to have an 'it's your first round, one size fits all' approach and I had to fight to get him to take the risk of OHSS seriously.

I definitely think you're right that sometimes you have to do the research and make these things happen yourself. Proud of you for being so pro-active!

Best of luck x

Thank you for your feedback, I will definitely share the outcome on this post after my first cycle with clomid. Good luck to you too! I think that pro-activity is key and this is way these forum are so helpful!

I haven’t heard of that interesting!

My fertility doctor has gave me clomid 2 years ago - he thought I had PCO but later discovered I have endometriosis & don’t have PCO. I took it days 2-6 of my cycle. Recently before I had my third laparoscopy he told me he’d be happy for me to do another 6 rounds of clomid if I wanted to & requested my GP to prescribe.. I’m not sure why he’s done that as I have regular cycles and my ovaries are normal? Maybe it does boost fertility. I think it’s definitely worth trying !! 👌🏻 xoxo

I used clomid as part of my last protocol. I took this on days 1-7 and so took 150 bemfola from day 2. We got 7 eggs, 6 were mature and 5 fertilized. They were however slow growers and had two 4 cells put back in day three. The rest didn’t make it to freeze. Although the cycle didn’t work, I responded much better and got best fertilization rate than two previous cycles when on 300 merional and 300-375 menopur. I would say worth a shot x
