I'm very sorry your IUI didn't work. As a IVF veteran I can tell you while it can work first time, it often takes more than 1 cycle to work. If you cannot get any help on the NHS, it may be worth looking abroad for cheaper prices so you can have more than 1 cycle.
Best of luck to you x
Hi Hannahchr
Really sorry your IUI didn't work out 😞 it's so disappointing to invest financially, but most of it emotionally and for it not to work out, really heartbreaking.
I am guessing you've already looked into whether the NHS locally an offer anything but if you haven't do find out if you can have any IVF on the NHS, we got our first cy le on the NHS.
You might want to look into refund schemes if you can stretch or do this on a loan. We paid £10500 (we got a bank loan) and this covered 3 IVF cycles. It does not include the drugs though, I normally pay £700-900 per cycle from Asda's pharmacy. If the 3 cycles on the refund scheme don't work, i.e. no baby, you get your money back (can be 50, 70 or 100% refund, we opted for 100% refund). This means when you get the money back you can obviously do what you wish with the money ... E.g. repay loan if this was the original source of the money, invest on more fertility treatment or anything!
