Sunshine and Cetrotide ☀️💉

Well, we had our injection lesson last week and it all went really well (apart from the fact that we purposely set off early so we could go to Tesco and get beef and Guinness pasties and they DIDN’T HAVE ANY - gutted). I was totally brave even if I do say so myself (about the injections, not so much the pastie shortage).

Anyway, I’ll be on Menopur and Cetrotide - has anyone got experience of these and what I can expect?

We’re hoping treatment will start around the 19th of August but in the meantime we’re on our jolly holidays which is absolute bliss 😊

Thanks, we just went for our follow up appointment today after a failed FET, got one more frozen embryo left so hopefully will be 3rd time lucky, clinic are doing more bloods this time to check for other things and booked in for a 3d scan also changing from the pessarys to injections this time. So fingers x. ☺️ x

Hi, i am currently on my first ivf cycle and doing menopur and cetrotide. I’ve been absoloutly fine with both, just a little more tired than usual, i’m on day 7 of injections now and the bloating has just started, so feeling slightly uncomfortable.

I recently did a short protocol with menopur and cetrotide. The clinic mixed the menopur for me and the injections were easy enough.

I had to mix the cetrotide myself. That was a little worrying that I'd get it wrong. I did mess up the first one (I'm really clumsy) but it all went well in the end and I got a good number of eggs collected. So if you have to mix the cetrotide yourself get the nurse to show you how to do it. But you might not have to.

I don't think I had any effects from the drugs, nothing I noticed anyway.

Overall it was a lot less of a hassle that I expected.

Yeah, they showed us how to mix them when we went for the lesson, I was very confused! Luckily the nurse pointed me in the direction of some videos so I imagine I’ll be watching them every time I have to inject!

Hi there, I was on both of those meds for my first cycle last year and will also be in them when I start my second cycle this month.

Like a few of the other ladies have said, the only side effect that I had was bloating!! Unfortunately i haven’t managed to lose all the weight I put on, it seems to have settled around my tum!

Bloating seems to be the most common symptom, I’m sure it’ll be worth it for us all though 😊💕
