Christmas Baby
The days go by and I count for what should have been
A month already? you’ll be here soon, just you wait and see;
The bloom in which I carry, more beautiful than spring
Alas, I cannot wait to see what this Christmas brings.
Our beautiful Christmas baby,
How loved and precious you are
I saw you on the sonogram my shining little star.
When I saw your heartbeat flutter, a tear rolled down my cheek
For in this world there’s nothing more that we should seek
Our beautiful Christmas baby.
I wonder what you’ll look like; will you have your daddy’s eye’s?
Or maybe mummy’s hair; not much of a surprise!
There’s no doubt you’ll have our temper’s, stubbornness and pride
You’ll certainly test our patience and leave us feeling fried.
Our beautiful Christmas baby,
How loved and precious you are
We decided on a name for you, our shining little star.
When we planned your nursery, a tear rolled down my cheek
For in this world there's nothing more that we should seek
Our precious Christmas baby.
We plan how we’ll dress you, in blue’s or pinks or greens
it really doesn’t matter compared with just how much you mean
Our hearts grew 10 times bigger to make enough space for you,
For the happiness you’d bring when family is made from two.
Our beautiful Christmas baby,
How loved and precious you are
We never got to touch you, our shining little star.
We said goodbye on Thursday, a tear rolled down my cheek
For in this world there’s nothing more that we should seek
Our precious Christmas baby.
All too soon the season ends, and with that did you
The pain that ripped our hearts apart is known by only few.
Our tiny little baby, here for not so long
Yet changed the way we see the world, sometimes it’s hard to stay strong
Our beautiful Christmas baby,
How loved and precious you were
You’ll always mean the world to us, our shining little star.
We’ll never forget your birthday, and a tear will cross my cheek
For in this world there’s nothing more that we should seek
Our precious Christmas baby.
Although we never met you, you knew only love and never pain
We shall always, remember when sunshine turns to rain
That no matter what the future holds
Were all sure to meet again.
Our beautiful Christmas baby,
How loved and precious you were
We will meet again someday, our shining little star.
We’ll never forget your birthday, and a tear will cross my cheek
Each year will bring us closer, to our gentleman or lady
Our tiny, beautiful, precious, angel Christmas baby.
