Why us!....?

Hello you lovely bunch.

So it's been a while since I've updated. I'm currently almost 20 weeks pregnant with twins. Things have been relatively quiet since my last bleed at 14 weeks, just a flare up of my hyperemisis & a urine infection! (If you dont know my history on here, please do check me out!) And I was starting to believe that things may be ok.

So now the tough bit, we went for our 20 week scan on Wednesday. With twins, this takes ages! Then at the end she informed us that one pumpkin has a heart problem, that was all they could say... She has refered us to a heart specialist in Bristol. I think someone upstairs must really think I'm a trouper to keep throwing stuff at me! I'm trying to be positive but struggling. It's just so unfair, to go through all we ladies/men go through with our treatment, then get hit with more bad news. I'm trying to prepare for the worst, which could be an issue that's not compatible with life. The appointment is Tuesday am, so we'll find out then.

It was a bitter sweet day really as we also found out were expecting 2x GIRLS!! 💗💗. I want to be happy but can't.

Try to stay positive as it could be all okay. You've fought to get this far so you've got the strength to deal with this too. I really hope it's all okay for you and congratulations on finding out you are having 2 girls! Xxx

Two girls!!!! Yay that’s such lovely news 💕

It’s so unfair to have yet another hurdle, to not have more information is excruciatingly tough. You can’t deal with things fully until you know what’s what. Do look after yourself and do try not to google. So much easier said than done.

Aww Becky Im so sorry that you've had this bad news, especially after what its taken for you to get your much wanted babies. Really hope that when you see the consultant that the news doesn seem so bleak and he can provide you with some reassurance! Thinking of you both, let us know how it goes!xx

My god talk about stress. Life is crap and so unfair. Doing ivf is one thing but now this.

Try and stay positive and wait to see what happens Tuesday. Second opinion is always good and the consultant will scan you again.

I hope it turns out all ok for your girls I really do.

As you say, just when you hope things might go normal after the journey you have already been through.

Thinking of worst case scenarios is naturally what happens, but they can do miracle procedures now.

Someone at work was told their baby had a hole in its head when they were pregnant and were advised that they shouldn’t continue. They did and she didn’t have a hole in her head, but was blind in one eye.

You just never know....keep fighting x
