Anyone else experience sharp pains in first trimester?

Hello, I'm currently 7 weeks and 3 days (after IVF) , so very early on, but after suffering one miscarriage I'm terrified of having another one and every sharp pain or ache in my stomach area is worrying me. I spoke to the midwife today and she said they're normal and if I'm going to have a miscarriage there's nothing I can do, or not do, to avoid it. Does anyone have these pains? Has anyone else had them and gone onto be 'fully pregnant' opposed to a 'little bit pregnant' like me? I just constantly think that I'm going to miscarry 😭

Hey. I often got short, sharp pains, especially when I moved quickly. I'm not "fully" pregnant but I am 15 weeks and still get them on ocassion. All was good at my 12 week scan 3 weeks ago. They can be disconcerting but definitely normal so try not to worry. Oh, and massive congratulations 😁 xx

I also had stomach pains in my first trimester and like you was worried something was wrong or I would miscarry. I now have a 6 month old baby girl. Midwifes also told me it was normal to feel that way xx

Please don’t worry although coming from someone whose had 5 miscarriages and 1 forced termination at 14 weeks I know how hard that is! As long as no severe bleeding along with the sharp pains you’re fine. I’ve had 2 missed miscarriages with no pain at all and the others were painless too. I’ve had plenty of sharp painful twinges throughout my first trimester and now into my second. The body is stretching to make room xxx

Sorry to hear about the long and hard journey you've had to get to where you are now but congratulations on being in your second trimester. Xxxx

Thanks so much!! Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy 😘xxx

I've just posted a similar question (i'm 5 weeks and had a previous loss) I have these needle pains today, just for a little bit this afternoon after a busy day. How are you feeling now? I'm worried too!

I still get them but I'm still pregnant so they're not a sign it's all over. I get up more slowly these days and that prevents them slightly but they are worrying. Hope you're not suffering too much xxx

Thanks for you reply! Guess we don't know what's going on in there... I have to wait until the 13th August for a scan so hoping this little thing hangs in there! x

I'm sure it will, have hope and remember they're very protected in there so can withstand more than we give it credit for. Good luck xx
