Hi Ama, there’s mixed opinions here but before I found out I had a blood clotting disorder and was prescribed Clexane I would take 75mg baby aspirin the day after my transfers. After my first missed miscarriage I was advised to take daily baby aspirin once my pregnancy is confirmed but i have friends that take it from ovulation. Best to seek medical advice first because everyone is different. It’s worth having a full blood clotting test to make sure you don’t have any issues as aspirin may or may not help x
It used to be given out as standard at my clinic with transfers but they no longer advocate taking it now unless you have a specific reason to do so ie; a blood clotting condition. Taking it otherwise can actually have a detrimental effect on your chances. Please don’t take anything unless you have discussed it with your gp or Fertility clinic xx
Hey Ama,
my clinic here in the USA lists 81mg of aspirin every day on IVF plans from stimulation day 1 until egg retrieval day. However it's always better to ask your specialist if you can take it because IVF plans are usually tailored on the patient's personal situation (bloods/genetic conditions/health history).
Have you started your cycle already? Let me know how it is going!
We're currently tracking my ovulation with blood tests in order to get a better idea of when to start, we should be ready (hopefully) soon
Good luck!
I take 75mg daily in the hope it’ll improve my lining x
I’ve been prescribed baby aspirin by a consultant from week 12 of pregnancy but this is to help the development of the placenta and reduce the risk of pre eclampsia. I don’t think it would have helped me to get pregnant and I think it’s significant that they didn’t have me take it in the first trimester.
I was recommended to take it due to having 2 previous miscarriages. I started taking 75mg before ovulation and we got pregnant and have been told by my consultant to continue taking now until I am full term. We are 12w this week!
I think there’s not much evidence for taking it unless specific problems and even then I think they recommend stronger blood thinners than aspirin any way (like celexane?) but I have read high dose aspirin can reduce absorption of folic acid so if you do take it maybe increase dose of folic acid?
Hi my nurse said not to unless the doctor prescribes it to me for a specific reason. I was taking it last month and ended up with a one day period...not sure if that's why but I'm not taking it anymore.
