eating carbohydrate + LOR + MNC

Hi! I am currently having a batch of MNC cycles and wondered how damageable eating carbs could be to the quality of the eggs? I have no diabetes at all and am only eating occasionally sweet things but I do eat wholewheat bread and other carbs. I am trying to avoid it as much as possible but don’t want to be obcess about dieting. Books like ‘it starts with an egg’ advance even not to eat fruits as they might be too rich in sugar!! I wonder whether this books isn’t that extrem because it is based in the USA where many people would have diabetes issues... Would any of you have experience in lowering sugar intake and increased egg quality?? Thanks.

In my mother's opinion diet has nothing to do with it as she's says "drug addicts and starving people in third world countries get pregnant" and after all my faffing and panicking I believe she's right. A friend of mine who is always eating out and having lots of fried, greasy and sugary foods, Frank pints of lager and smoked like a chimney (size 20) conceived very quickly as did my 40 year old cousin who was starving herself for her wedding (size 8). In other words don't worry! Xx

There was a program on recently called The Truth About Carbs. They actually talked about carbs and infertility. They basically said good carbs were fine, but to avoid the bad carbs like white bread etc. Xx

That’s what my dietician basically said. She said balance the benefit of all food, ie eat fruit because although it contains sugar there as vitamins and minerals in them so it’s better quality food compared to eating a chocolate bar as a snack instead. My dietician also said diet might not change a lot but it’s to tipping the balance in your favour. There is also a link between what u eat for 3 months before pregnancy and your pregnancy with the child’s health. To be fair though stressing about what you can/can’t eat can be stressful and we are told stress isn’t good for us either 🤷‍♀️ xx

I think we all know what really we shouldn't and shouldn't be eating/doing, but it's just so difficult all the time. I don't eat meat, so tend to eat plenty of veg, most of the time. I like chocolate and biscuits too lol. I think before my treatment I probably did eat less bread, crisps and chocolate. I do now though 😀 I think the key is just to be more mindful and balanced. Good luck with your treatment xx

Completely agree with u! It’s a long journey and you need to be kind to yourself. Good luck with your journey too xx

Hey! I don't know what is proven to help with fertility. But I felt so much better when I cut down on sugar in the last few months. I do believe that processed foods mess with your hormones.

My fertility nutritionist took me off gluten too and I felt so so much better. (I still cannot resist the odd bun! 😂)

Everyone is different - but for me TTC wasn't easy so was willing to try new things.

Xxx
