Chinese acupuncture and herbal soup, anyone else????

Hi, So me and the other half went to a chinese herbalist today we both had acupuncture and also were sent home with soup, which is currently simmering on the stove...

has anybody else tried this ?? has it worked??? caused any problems???

Due to the fact that the problem isn't with me but the other halfs swimmers they want him to come back weekly for 3 months of acupuncture...
