First injection: ✅ DONE!

Evening peeps!

Got my first Menopur injection over and done with this evening - it was absolutely fine! Husband and I prepped it together, he he did the injecting. Very little pain what so ever, we took it nice and slowly too.. I’ve had far more painful mozzy bites, that’s the best way to put it!! 🤣🤣 followed advice from lovely peeps on here and had a nice dinner ready to enjoy straight afterwards, to set us into an evening routine. Just wanted to let anyone who may be nervous know it’s really not that bad at all - you’ve got this!!! 😊😊😊

Lots of love - have a fab week ladies 😘😘😘😘 xxx

Well done! I'm starting mine this evening and reading this definitely helps! Sorry if I'm asking a rather silly question but is it better to have the injections before or after dinner?

Oh that’s great to hear Mifkipi it’s calmed you a bit - how exciting, such good progress getting it started !! 💕 it’s definitely a bigger thing in your head than actually doing it - so don’t worry, you’ll smash it! 💪🏻❤️ I had dinner in the oven so we could enjoy it any relax afterwards, so going to try and stick with that routine i think 😊👍🏻 Good luck for tonight - let me know how you get on! Xxx

Ah. My husband finishes work fairly late (he comes home around 9pm) so I may have to have dinner first. Didn't like the idea of doing an injection with a full stomach... Anyhow I'm kind of looking forward to the injections as it's like taking a small step towards your dream. I'll let you know how my injections go :) best of luck to both of us xxx

Well done! Such a good idea getting the men involved. My OH saw me prepare and administer the first but after that I just disappeared upstairs to do them. I think it might have seemed more real to him if I'd involved him more. He did always check that I'd done it though which was sweet. Good luck for the rest of your cycle xx

Thanks so much! 😘 yeah I think he’s really getting something from being involved - he’s doing really well at it so think he’s considering a career change into the healthcare industry! Haha! 🤣 hope things are good with you hun xxx

Miss_Worrier how are you feeling today? I'm so knackered and that's an understatement! Not sleeping well at night and I kept sweating :( tummy feels dull but I think that might be because I'm conscious of it. My hay fever is also kicking in and it feels like I'm sneezing my little eggies away 😂😂 hope you are doing good xxx

Morning hun! Very tired, but I’ve had horrible work deadlines and house work being done this week, so I think it’s an accumulation of everything, plus the addrelin plus highs and crash’s of hormones! Was just thinking this morning that the bloating seems to be better today, so wondering if when I go for my 5-8 scan check on Friday, the May up the dose?? Who knows! Oh bless you with hay fever - mine was terrible last year, they say it alternates years which must be why I’m doing ok at the mo (touch wood!). Could be just all the emotions stopping you sleeping hun- do you usually think a lot at night time? (This is what usually gets me!) xxxx

Oh wow. You brave woman! I have pretty much stopped my life for this IVF. My work is demanding but I have decided to take a back seat for now (can't really tell my colleagues about it either). Funny enough, I used to think a lot before, but haven't been thinking since I started the injections. I just want it to be over regardless of whether I have a baby at the end of it (I know I will be devastated..). My 2nd injection last night was quite painful so I think I went to sleep last night thinking I have achieved something and actually felt quite good. But I keep needing to pee early in the morning (sorry tmi) and can't seem to get back to sleep! I am borderline poly and have my scan tomorrow. Hopefully they will tell me everything is fine :). Let me know how your scan goes on Friday xxx

Hey hun! Oh I don’t know about brave.. it’s all just happened so fast for me (we went from the tests taking forever to BOOM your injections start in 10 days) , I didn’t get enough time to rearrange anything I had booked in! Haha1 I think in some ways having the distraction has been really helpful as I’m a total over thinker and suffer from anxiety, but I think if this first round doesn’t work which I would be very surprised if it did then I’ll have to look at ways of trying to lower stress long-term while having treatment, as it is feeling exhausting isn’t it. Sounds like you’ve made a great choice for you hun and really sensible  oh don’t worry, there’s no such thing as TMI in the world of IVF it seems – I’m peeing like a trooper too, but I’m convinced it’s all the ruddy supplements I have been taking!! I’m the opposite in terms of eggs – I think I’m pretty much bang in the ‘normal’ range, but probably could be better numbers wise, so scan should help them know if they need to pump more into me! Lol! Good luck with your scan babe – keep me posted! <3 xxx

Just had my scan...so it looks like only 11 folicoles have developed, which is a little less than I had hoped. In any case, just trying to stay positive and like you said, it would be a pleasant surprise if this had worked! And as soon as I see the needles...positive negative thoughts you name it...are all out of the window 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hun 11 follicles is a fantastic number, well done!! I would be absolutely made up with that! As you'll see lots of here, try not to get too bogged down with numbers as it can't really tell you all that much as everyone is so different, and just take each bit as it comes. Try to focus on that the aim of this whole thing is one good egg that they are happy to transfer - I think it's the healthiest way emotionally to play it. Awesome work, and do let me know if you ever want to chat xxx
