I am only not swimming because of pessaries, my midwife yesterday advised that swimming would be good for me and basically said that once I’m over 14 weeks then I should go back to it, as that many weeks takes me into a “safe zone” as she called it. Obviously that was personal advice based on my circumstances but might be helpful.
I haven’t asked about intercourse but I’m sure you could call your midwife or clinic and ask?
Oh dear I didn’t realise that... sorry if TMI but I take cyclogest pessaries rectally 🙈 does that make a difference to swimming? As I know vaginal pessaries have a tendency to ‘leak’
I’ve never taken rectal pessaries so I don’t know. I’m on utrogestan vaginal and they leak a lot so it would be gross to go in a swimming pool whist using them!
Is that just ivf specific or pregnancy in general ??
Oh and I was hoping to go swimming again in a few weeks too... sorry I don’t have answers for you- but even if you don’t have appt with ur ivf clinic you should still be able to phone them and ask that advice. Say you forgot to ask at the scan. Alternatively you should now be under midwife care so can ask her
I’m not sure if it’s ivf related but think they wanted to make sure my cervix was fully closed
Thank you for your reply I think I’ll call my midwife x
I was told no intercourse until OTD so at 7 weeks I thought you'd be safe, and definitely by 15 weeks! Probably best to check though as it seems lots of clinic do things differently. X
I'm the same haven't had sex for 13 weeks really as were not pregnant for the first two. And I'm 15+4.But iv not had it due to feeling ill with sickness etc now I'm feeling better will be getting jiggy with it, hubby has been very patient bless him.
I know I just need to try be patient but seriously it's hard when they've already put the worry in you. If nothing happens soon I may have to see if they'll accept a private scan.
I'm the same! Said to hubby it a no go area until at least 12 weeks! I'm 9.6 weeks now. He's pulling his hair out! I've got hyperemisis gravardium so he does understand a Little bit more, that I can't deal with much movement 🤣. Xx
