Sample appointment 1st one

Hi guys my hubbys got his sample appointment on Wednesday at the priory and he’s in the illusion that he has to do the deed twice in one time as the sperm qualities better second time round. Feeling quite emotional about things at the moment my sisters baby shower tomorrow as well so think I’m going to find it tough. I hate myself sometimes for envying other women. Even saw a lady yesterday smoking whilst pregnant and clearly a alcohol dependent and thought that poor baby, yet we can’t have one ... sorry for the negative vibes x I find it so helpful to vent on here and share feelings etc as I find ivf quite isolating x hope u r all ok

My OH has his tomorrow morning and he’s really nervous and anxious about it, I haven’t heard that the second sample would be better is that a thing? I hope not as he’s said he’ll be lucky if he can produce one he’s so nervous! God this journey is so mental!

It is mental when we went to a open evening the guy there said to me and hubby if u have sex twice when ttc then the quality of sperm is better half a hour after first ejaculation as it clears all the old sperm out. But I don’t know how true this is

Hi I'm not sure if twice straight after helps. We have 2 rounds of icsi and hubby had to do a sample so 3 times in total an we were told to have intercourse no longer 7 days before but not after 3 days before, they say anymore than 7 days will b old sperm and had to leave 3 days to have a good build up of it ( hubby has a low count)

For the sample to fertilise my eggs my husband only had to give one, he has poor sperm too and we had to abstain for three days prior. Is it just to test his sperm? Because if it is, you do give two samples but over time, so one and then another one on another day.. Probably best to check with the clinic to be on the safe side. Xx

I'm pretty sure he might be confused then.. So two samples, but one on weds and then another two weeks later. Definitely phone the clinic tomorrow to check xx

First time I have heard this. We had to make sure we abstained for two days before hand to ensure a good enough amount, but never in 6 cycles has he had to do it twice. Would definitely check.xx
