gonorrhea Inconclusive twice?!?

Hello everyone,

This is kinda embrassing more so that I have the most beige sex life ever and have been with the same man for 18 years.

I have been having some tests as I am due to start IVF soon due to my very low AMH.

My GP did some swaps for STDS and everything came back ok expect for the gonorrhea one which was inconclusive. He then suggested I go to the Sexual health clinic for a follow up which I did.

I just received a phonecall to advise that the same has happened again! My HIV etc have come back clear but the Gonorrhea has come back inconclusive again! I have to go back wednesday and they will run a futher two tests.

I only went for routine checks before I have my IVF and now I'm worried if I have it can cause infertility. Like I said my last sexual partner was over 18 years ago.

I also had routine swabs at the NHS fertility clinic before christmas which were negetive, does anyone know if they test for gonorrhea at that point. It just seems very weird to me. The guy did say if there is blood in the sample it can cause an inconclusive results but what are the odds of it happening twice?

Anyone had this happen?

Has your partner been tested? Surely if his tests come back clear then you can feel confident that you don’t have it- after 18 years you’d assume that either both or neither of you would be affected.

No he hasn't. I really thought the second test would come back clear.All this waiting is driving me nuts. I have my consultants appointment for ivf on the 11th and I was hoping to have the all clear for then.
