I am looking for some advice for my first appointment after our failed first cycle. Sorry for the long post.
Today I called the clinic after my OTD on Sunday they managed to fit me in tomorrow which is great. I have 5 frozen embryos.
The nurse on the phone said we didn't have to go as they can't tell us why it failed but some patients prefer to go so I opted to. She also said that we have the option to do the Frozen transfer naturally to my cycle if its regular (they are give it take 2-3 days) or go for injection stimulation. I would also have different medication thankfully as I hated the gel.
I have learnt a lot from my first cycle so am trying to find ways to hugely reduce stress (there seems to be a lot and feel this is holding me back a lot).
So my questions are?
Are there any specific questions I should ask at the appointment? Or you wish you had of asked?
Has anyone had experience of naturally having a frozen transfer? Would you have opted for medication?
Any tips on reducing stress?
Any advice would be much appreciated XX

Thank you, we’re thinking positive for our next try!!
Yeah we thought we would be able to carry straight on but no two cycles!! I’ve just ovulated so hopefully my first period won’t be far away!!
We asked if they would do anything different this time....his answer was no as it initially worked this time so we need to do exactly what we did last time and hope and pray it stays!!
Good luck with your appointment!! Xxx
Hi Sammy. Sorry to hear what you’re going through. I am going through a frozen transfer following an unsuccessful fresh cycle in January. In terms of questions DianeArnold has a list that she can send you if you email her.
At my follow up, they looked through the embryologist report, discussed the transfer. None of those had any issues. Options were discussed for medicated or non medicated. We opted for medicated as they recommended this even though my cycles are regular just because of convenience if it happens to fall on a weekend. They also suggested an endometrial scratch which I had on day 21 and embryo glue. I’m also getting progesterone injections rather than pessaries. We were also told we could have two embryos back now if we wanted.
Re stress: I write a diary and try to record something that I am grateful for every day. I recommend the art of happiness to help let go of anger and the chimp paradox to understand your mind better. I had acupuncture this cycle- not sure if it makes a difference but it can’t hurt and it makes sure that I am still for 20minutes or so.
Hi Sammy18. I have a list of questions I could email you in confidence if you want. You can get me at support@fertilitynetworkuk.org Also, acupuncture is often recommended, as it can reduce stress levels and increase blood flow to the womb lining. Hope all goes well when you decide to go ahead. Diane
