Short protocol : Hi all we went to a... - Fertility Network UK
Short protocol
No down regulation and a shorter period of stimulation xx
Just a shorter process end to end, so it all goes much quicker. I had long protocol 3 times and it seemed to last forever! My latest cycle was short protocol and seemed to whizz by from start to egg collection. 2 weeks of stimulation drugs, scans during the second week to see how things are progressing, and then the trigger shot to release the eggs. Good luck! xx
No down regulation. You start stims on day one of the period. Stims usually last for 10-14days, then egg collection and the two week wait. Good luck xx
I was on short protocol and I did still have down regulation but rather than being done in advance of stims it was done simultaneously. For me that meant 2 injections a day rather than 1 (not every day but maybe for a week). A short protocol reduces the chance of over stimulation so my clinic put everyone who has PCOS on that protocol. As the other ladies have said it does make your cycle feel faster which is a good thing! x
Hi Smudge267. Sometimes some down regulation is required, then into stimulation. Some clinics go straight into stimulation and give you some Cetrotide to prevent you from ovulating early. Just got to wait until you see the nurse to discuss the protocol, but whatever happens, it will be a shorter cycle. Hope all goes well. Diane
