hi all!

Has anyone experienced better quality results on short over long protocol.

i had long protocol where I got 15 eggs but none of high quality on day 3. Nevertheless on short protocols I got always hight quality embryos on day 3. Xx

hi, I had fewer eggs but I think better quality with short versus long. Not sure there is much evidence either way. The first clinic I went to did long for everyone, I got 7 and 9 eggs from 2 cycles, 3 blasts total but all BFN. Then changed clinics to one closer to home which did all short protocol, got 3 eggs (thought it was disastrous) but BFP 🩵 from the only blastocyst which resulted.

Wow! I am glad you have positive result! Congrats! Could you share the medication you went through pls? Do you think the change of clinic and laboratory also had a key play?

Hi, did you use contraceptives during your long protocol? And also how many days is your cycle?

Hi, I'm curious about this aswell. I had the same numbers as you on my long protocol, 15 eggs retrieved but by day three only 5 remaining embryos. They transferred 2 at day 3 as they thought they may not make it to day 5 and they were right, bfn and we had none to freeze.

With my short protocols (4 cycles) we've had 10 eggs retrieved on average and three day 5 blasts. I do feel short worked better for me.

Currently on another long protocol but switched up the meds from menopur to pergoveris so we'll see what this one brings xx

Did you use contraceptives during your long protocol? How long is your period cycle?

Yes, they always recommend to use, which I do but always find odd as the likehood of getting pregnant naturally is so low in our case! Do you? My cycle is always more than 28 days and can go until 45. Is it something related with it?

How is this last cycle?

Just miscarriages and hoping to ask my Dr. to use long protocol next time I try IVF again. However my cycle is 24- 26 and I don't want to use contraceptives. But I am told that the only way not to use contraceptives is if my cycle is 28 so I can start the protocol on the 21
