I'm just wondering if anyone has been given advice on what they should or shouldn't eat in both leading up to egg collection and after transfer? Our clinic hasn't mentioned anything to us apart from me taking Folic Acid and Hubby a multi vit tablet with Zinc.
Our diets are normally pretty good, no freezer food, always cook fresh but we do have the odd few days where we have a take away, eat out, I stuff my face with choc ...
Seen a few posts on here regarding diet and just curious as to why our clinic hasn't mentioned anything to us?

My clinic didn’t mention anything either. When I asked about supplements they said it’s all scientifical and if I want to I can take preconception vitamins buts that’s it. They said to mention a healthy diet. I have been eating pineapple before and after transfer and avocados but I eat it anyway
Not really. We didn’t drink 3 weeks prior to the egg collection but we not much of drinkers anyway. I guess it all depend on what you are struggling with. We are both healthy with good results and healthy habits, it’s just my tubes that were blocked due to endo. We just lead normal lives really before and after ivf
Hi KJLee - I wasn't given any diet advice from my clinic. But some other IVF friends have advised to increase your protein intake during stims to make those eggs extra juicy! I also cut out caffeine (since Oct!) but will still have the odd piece of chocolate
I will hopefully be starting stims next week and just for good measure I've ordered the Zita West IVF diet book and will try some of the recipes.
Good luck with your journey! xx
My clinic told us not to go google daft on what to or what not to eat etc as nothing is proven to help !! So I’ve stuck to my normal diet we’re the same have a good balanced diet , takeaways at weekend and I’m a chocoholic 🙈 and so far so good for me currently around 6,1/2 weeks pregnant . Just do what you normally do I say x
I'm also really interested in diet - want to do anything we can to set up for success. I have actually spent most of today searching the internet to try and find tips and am going to pull together some shopping lists based on what I've found. But it all seems fairly common sense really, lots of fruit and veg, protein, nuts and seeds, plenty of water and avoid junk food, processed food and sugary foods - plus caffeine and alcohol.
In terms of the Docs, all they have said is to take folic acid for me, and foods high in antioxidants for my partner to help with sperm quality and DNA. They've also recommended Condensyl for him which he's taking.
