So we are currently a couple of into after failed ivf cycle and have been trying to chill out and have non planned fun sex. Today having one of those fun days, a few hours after I have started getting severe cramps in my lower abdomen, I have checked my cycle and it turns out to be ovulation day. Could this pain be a result of ivf from.the other month?? Can anybody relate?? Thanks x

I have had ovulation pain on and off over the years. When I was in my early 20s it was relatively frequent (going on the pill cured it) but I’ve only had it once since coming off the pill to ttc. Some months it was worse than others. A couple of times it has been so bad I’ve curled up in bed with a hot water bottle and not moved but most of the time it has been manageable. The advice from my GP was to alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol to relieve the pain and most of the time that worked. That was all obviously before IVF so for me IVF wasn’t a contributing factor. I don’t know whether IVF could cause it to happen though. Might be worth a call to your clinic to find out? Hopefully it isn’t too bad and not a regular occurrence.
