Hi all, sadly my transfer was cancelled yesterday as I have OHSS. I kind of suspected something was wrong as I have been practically bed ridden since egg collection. Am obviously gutted, but have been feeling so ill I can’t wait to feel better. We also had four top grade blastos frozen, which has made it easier to deal with.
I’m drinking a lot, resting- is there anything else I can do to speed up recovery? Have been incredibly nauseous today so struggling to eat. I wondered if some of the symptoms could also be due to stopping the progesterone?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I had exactly the same yesterday. Ended up in the theatre and everything then when they scanned my stomach my ovaries were huge. I knew there was something wrong, I’d been in so much pain and my stomach was so bloated since egg collection. I kept ringing but I think because I’d not got any other symptoms they didn’t check it. I’ve been taking co codamol which has been much better than paracetamol.
It’s so disappointing but great that uve got 4 good ones frozen. Yesterday I was so upset but feel much better today. It was the right thing to do.
Hi there, sorry to hear about your OHSS delay! I was in the same boat a couple months ago and had to delay even further as the clinic was closed over the holidays when my next cycle was due! So I did end up with plenty of recovery time.
As far as recovery I think being kind to yourself and taking it easy is best. I did up my intake of electrolytes (I went with coconut water) as I'd read online that it could help a bit. Also kept my feet up on the couch for a few days watching movies and hugging my hot water bottle.
So try and take it easy. Wishing you a speedy recovery! And congratulations on your 4 blastos! That's amazing! xx
