Has it helped in trying to conceive alongside fertility treatment?
How long should you have for?
Already into injections for this cycle so don’t know whether it’s too late, but getting to the point where I want to try anything! Having a day where I just burst into tears

Hi - my friend did acupuncture in her 1st cycle and IVF and was successful.
My clinic recommends it. When I looked at some literature, acupuncture seems to have more evidence in favour of it.
I am doing acupuncture at the moment. Started it 2 weeks before my down regulation.
I’ve chosen a clinic that has therapists that specialise in fertility/IVF acupuncture. They seem very knowledgeable.
I’m also going to do reflexology around stimulation, EC, ET and 2ww. Mainly for stress release and relaxation. I’ve found a therapist who specialises in fertility/IVF/pregnancy.
I’m glad I’m doing it. Makes me feel like I’m being proactive in helping this cycle 😊
There is a place where I work that specialises in it too for fertility, just £75 a session so wanted to check it was worth while on top of all other costs! Like you say it feels like you are doing everything you can to help which likely relieves stress and anxiety so can only be a good thing!
Hi. I’m currently undergoing my 1st IVF cycle. A lot of clinics too recommend acupuncture.Atm just awaiting transfer ,I’ve had 3 acupuncture sessions during stimming as my therapist recommended and plan to also do pre/post transfer.
In the past I’ve also tried reflexology and cupping. These can be quite expensive but we felt we should explore every avenue if it helps achieve our goal of having alittle bubba x
I wouldn’t say acupuncture is painful. It’s a momentary sensation then fine. Usually she puts around 10 needles in various places and then I lie there for around 20 mins. It’s very relaxing 😌
The clinic I’m at charges £60 per session.
It’s difficult to say if it’s worth it. I guess personally for me it is as it gives peace of mind and helps stress release.
I had been having acupuncture when we were trying to conceive naturally. As we had male factor problems DH actually had Acupuncture on our first cycle and it didn’t work.
For our third cycle (second was cancelled halfway) I had Acupuncture and it worked, so I would definitely recommend.
I didn’t find it painful at all and actually nearly fell asleep most times. We found a private acupuncturist who specialises in fertility issues and they charged about £45 a session ( 1 hour).
That’s great thanks I’m going to give it a go 🤞🏻 got to be worth a try! Xx
I would definitely say yes to acupuncture especially if you are stressed. My daughter started too late during her first ivf but carried on right through her wait time for her second ivf and beyond. It helped her relax more the daily headaches disappeared and her therapist worked on balancing her hormonal system. She had success on her second ivf with a five day blastocyst which at the time was the only embryo available for transfer and it was of an average grade. We now have a beautiful 8 month old grandaughter. And I am a firm believer that it is well worth trying. The important thing is to get yourself a suitable therapist ours studied under a Chinese doctor at a university in the north yorkshire area and is also a qualified well respected midwife.
