So after my recent BFP i should be about 5 and a half weeks pregnant.
This evening i’ve come home and all of a sudden started bleeding. Bright red with a few clots (sorry tmi!)
It didn’t last long at all and has now seemed to stop as soon as a put a pad on.
I haven’t had any spotting or cramps at all up until now- ive currently got a bit of a dull ache if anything but naturally I’m terrified that this is all bad news!
My doctor wants me to increase my pessaries and push my scan forward to the end of next week.
Have any of you had similar scary experiences that have turned out fine? I’m trying not to panic but easier said then done 😢

Thanks for reply. I didn’t have any “pains” just an uncomfortable feeling and tightness.
I’ve increased my pessary dosage as instructed and haven’t had any further bleeding or spotting at all. It seemed to stop as suddenly as it started, I still feel nauseous too so I’m hoping thats a good sign.
Will find out for sure this week 🤞🏼
I hope your scan brings only good news too 💕 all this waiting around makes it hard doesn’t it!
I had bleeding at 7 weeks with my first pregnancy and he’s now a strapping 19 year old lad! I bled heavily like a period.
Bleeding in early pregnancy is common but terrifying. It doesn’t always indicate a miscarriage xoxo
Hi Laura_beth. Just echoing what the girls have said really. I had a bleed at about 6&1/2 weeks. It was terrifying. My clinic were brilliant and scanned me that day (though did warn me it might have been too early to tell). Thankfully we saw a heartbeat. I’m currently 11 weeks and having my 12 week scan on Thursday. 🤞 it’s hard not to freak out after everything that we’ve been through to get to this point, but bleeding in early pregnancy is fairly common and isn’t always bad news. Fingers crossed for u. And yes feeling nauseous is a good sign! Mine went with the bleed then came back with a vengeance. (Hubby and mum think I’m weird as I’m so happy to be sick if that makes sense haha!) xx best of luck xx
