Harmony NIPT test

Hi all, just wanted to provide an update. One of our twins had a high nuchal fold/fluid measurement at our 12 week scan. I had the bloods done to complete the combined test an eventually they came back low risk of chromosomal problems. Went to see consultant and she recommended I get the NIPT test done because we’re having twins - I think she would have liked me to have amnio done but I didn’t want to risk it. The midwife suggested St. George’s Hospital in South London may do the cheapest NIPT test so I called them and was told they were doing a trial, testing the test on twin pregnancies and I could take part for free. So I hot footed it down to South London on 23 Dec and gave my blood. We waited and waited and got the result this week that there’s v little risk of the main three chromosomal problems. It’s a relief. We wouldn’t have changed course anyway but got checked in case the results indicated we’d need extra care at the birth. I also had to go to Great Ormond St for a fetal cardiac scan a couple of weeks ago because of the measurement. That came back fine too. Trying to relax a bit now. A scan showed we’re having two boys. Got our 20 week scan this Friday. I wanted to post in case anyone else is facing similar with the nuchal fluid in future. Love to you all xx

Sounds like you've had a long haul. But it's been worth it. Very pleased to hear the boys 💙💙 are doing well and everything seems to be fine. Such a, relief. Put your feet up when you can. Your surely going to be very busy once they arrive. Congratulations hun
