Hi.

My husband accidently poked himself with the little needle when he was trying to take the lid off.

Tomorrow we have our final injection.

Problem is we don't have another spare needle!

Can I use the one I used today? The hospital is closed.over the weekend.

I wiped it upwards with the swab they provided us with.

Help!!

Monday is egg collection

I don’t think you should reuse a needle in case of infection. Is your clinic open in the morning? Or do you have the out of hours number they gave you? You could ring it...

Thanks i might call that number. Just need to find the number.

The clinic is about 40mins drive away and closed over the weekend.

Our clinic is closed at weekend too but I’ve been there on a Saturday and Sunday morning to have embryo transfer done. If you got hold of someone on the phone tonight you might be able to pick up needles from clinic tomorrow. Just a thought. Could you even get needles from local out ignore hours GP?

Hoping you get something sorted! This is all you need xx

Aww. Thanks.

I'm in the northwest near Manchester.

I wI'll call the out of hours to and sew what they say.

I asked someone who injects insulin everyday. I know it's not the same thing. They told me they have used same needle more than once and they was ok

I will call nhs number and ask now

I would do it, personally, as the needle has only been in you so you won’t have any cross contamination, just keep it somewhere clean so it doesn’t pick up any germs between now and then.

This is not a medical opinion though!

Thanks.

I cleaned it with a sterile wipe. If u know what I mean.

I've put the lid back on.

My husband says it should be ok but I will still call nhs helpline and ask. That's if I get no response from the clinic.

You might be able to get one from a pharmacy as an alternative?

I've just spoken to a lady on the nhs line. She gave my info to the local out of hours gp. Waiting for a call back in the next hour xx

Hi. I just spoke spoke to the local gp.

He said it should be ok as long as the needle was only injected in me and was cleaned and covered. Which I did. 😊

He did say if I want he can try and see if he can find some and get it to me. I told him it's fine. I'll use the used clean needle.

I asked what could happen if I used the needle and got some kind of an infection. He said it would be something minor as it was only used by me and it wouldn't effect my hormones.

Thanks for your concerns xx
