trying to conceive for a long time

Here's my story. I'm sorry if it makes you feel sad. That is not the intention, though. I just want your suggestions. My husband and I are trying to conceive for a long time now. 3 years to be exact. I had a miscarriage like 4 years ago. We checked with the doctors and they told us that this won't be an issue for us in the future. Meaning that this won't prevent me from getting pregnant again. It was my main concern back them... However, I was relieved when they told us that. Now, that so much time has passed, I think my gut feeling was right. What I have been worried about is happening now. It's the miscarriage that's causing this issue. I just can't forgive my body for failing me. Can anyone relate to my situation? If so, can you please share what strategy have you adopted to cope this? Also, I am kinda exploring the alternatives that are available these days... Can anyone please guide me about them too? Thanks!

Hi Belen, so sorry to heat about your struggle. Have you informed your gp of this situation? After 1 year of trying with no success the gp should refer you to the local fertility centre. Once there they should make all the relevant test (amh, fsh, lh, oe, pelvic scan, follicle count, sperm test) and explain you what is best to do.

Unfortunately misccarriages happen quite often but as far as I’m aware they shouldn’t prevent your body from conceiving again.

Good luck!!

I'm so sorry that you're struggling to conceive, my husband and I have been trying for 14 months now with no success. I can't give you much in the way of advice other than for you to get the usual checks done if you haven't already (such as blood tests etc) but I can say that my sister suffered 3 miscarriages, and it took her a long time to conceive as well. But she went on to conceive naturally and now has 2 children. Try not to lose hope, anything is possible. Sending you big hugs xx

Hi so sorry to hear of your struggles to conceive, I was ttc and i did eventually get pregnant but miscarried 3 times all before 10 weeks and doctors had no explanation why, the 4th time I got pregnant I had now been ttc for 12yrs and me aged 41 I convinced myself it would happen again but it worked I had a perfect pregnancy with no problems and gave birth to my gorgeous boy when I was 42, I never did anything different in this pregnancy so I know in my heart i could not of done anything to stop my miscarriages it was all part of my journey please never give up, I recommend you get all yours tests done and get support from your gp, you are not alone and believe it will happen. and Good luck x
