I just checked my Clinics live birth rate and realised it is only 22% I just feel so deflated. We are currently NHS funded. I just feel like is there any point even going through another round with them ?

Clinic Birth Rate
I think it’s so hard to get to these facts unless you look on the hfea website, the clinics own websites have varying stats - some for clinical pregnancy, some for live birth rate... confusing! If you’re unsure maybe ask if you could move to another NHS clinic nearby which has better rates? Xxx
Thank you I just had a look on the HFEA website the pregnancy rate is 31% live birth rate 21% it's just such low odds. The other nearest clinic to me is about the same my partner is reluctant to go private As we have 1 more NHS round but I don't know how many times I can keep going through ivf I fear that if I lose another 2-3 embryos it will have broken me by the time we even get to private care! It's so difficult to know what's for the best ... xxxxx
It’s important to remember that it all depends on the patients they see. Perhaps recently it’s been more complex cases, or an older demographic. As a teacher I would say don’t believe all the stats you read, as the high ones are not always what they seem! Perhaps see if you can find some reviews? And if you’re really not sure then go back and chat with your doctor. I hope you get some clarity lovely xx
That's what my partner thinks, he said that there could be a variety of couples with complex issues that have resulted in negative results, that we should look at our personal circumstances, I have a high AMH and good egg reserve he has good sperm, he thinks it's just a matter of time before one is successful but we've lost 3 embryos this year it's just taking its toll on me now ! Xxxxx
The stats don't show the whole picture but have you compared with other clinics for your age range? Most clinics compare with the national average and it's only really a couple of the London clinics which have much higher success rates but they throw all possible extra treatments at IVF and they cost lots! If you are over 38 then 22% may be quite good but if you are under 35 then that would seem quite low. Have a look at their overall numbers. That will tell you if a few complex cases might have messed up their success. Low numbers would suggest that's the case but if they are treating high numbers then not so much. Good luck x
I picked a clinic with highest success rate of stimulated IUI, it was 27%. When we saw consultant due to my age this figure turned out to be more like 15%, we weren’t sure whether to bother or not....we did and now I’m pregnant with twins. Statistics are a number but someone has to be the ones that it works for. Good luck and I hope the clinic does everything they can to help! Xxx
I think you’ll give yourself a really hard time if you look at stats. It’s all very individual in the end.
Some people like myself had a BFN and when reviewed again, they found I had scarring etc which is a major issue for not implanting.
There’s so many reasons for failure... and if you look at stats no one would do it. There’s many positive stories here, so it does work, some just have to try harder!
