Hi all :) I've been on here a while but I only ever read everything, I've never had to ask for advice so here goes.. I've started my first cycle of ICSI, i'll be taking my third injection of gonal f tonight, but I've got terrible lower back pain... Has anyone else experienced this before, is this normal?

Hey, I’ve never been on gonal F so I can’t help with your question but I’m hoping with my comment added it will bring your question to nearer the top of the forum so more people can see it & hopefully help answer 😊 x

Do you usually get back pain when you get your period? I was on the highest dose of gonal f, and I didn’t get much back pain but I got lots of other symptoms that were similar to when my period is due, just multipled! I also got really bloated so if you have that as well it could be contributing to the back pain? If you’re really worried call your clinic they should hopefully be able to help :)

I had lots of side effects from it, I spent most of my ivf cycle struggling to function as a normal person! So you’re definitely not the only one :)

Hi there, I’m new-ish too, finding this a helpful forum 🙂 I had Gonal F for iui cycles, each time a bigger dose & symptoms very similar to Runner90. Before-period pain cramps, bloating and bad headaches. Think that’s the deal with G-F but definitely check with your clinic if worried. Good luck 🍀🤞

I was on the highest dose of Gonal F & did experience some lower back pain....I can’t say it was really painful, but more a dull ache!! I do get that sometimes around period though so i wasn’t overly concerned!!

Wishing you the very best for your cycle, hope you get your positive!! 🤞🏻xx
