BFP to a BFN in <24 hours... gutted!πŸ’”

Hi ladies

Just thought I would update you that even though I had BFP’s for the four days leading up to my OTD unfortunately the spotting ended up being AF/early miscarriage!

This morning I had my blood test which has come back today with only 4% hcg!

Another failed ICSI for my DH and I, we are absolutely gutted!!!

Positives are we got a good amount of good quality eggs and we ended up with two good blastys this time which were both transferred so fingers crossed for a fresh cycle next time (should we wish to put our hearts on the line once again) πŸ’”

Wishing all of you the best of luck with your cycles and pregnancies βœ¨πŸ€πŸ’—πŸ’™

I'm so very sorry to hear this S_Rose, if it helps at all I had the same last week - BFN on OTD with a HCG of 4! Even though I've had a heavy AF since I had to go back this morning for a repeat blood test to make sure it's back to 0... It's a truly awful time I really sympathise and know what you're going through. I refrained from doing a home test before OTD as just didn't dare but now I sort of wish I had as might have seen an early BFP for once in my life. But I realise this would have elated us as well only to be brought crashing down to earth..so wouldn't have been a good thing it just might have been nice for a few hours xx lots of love

Sorry to hear your sad news to blonde! Life can be so cruel to us!!!

I’m not sure I would test early ever again however I’m glad I did this time as it gave me some reassurance that I can get pregnant (something I never knew) even though it was very early days!

Ugh I feel so crap I can’t bring myself to move from slobbing on the sofa feeling sorry for myself!!! Trying to support my DH too who is a classic non-talker!

Have you decided whether to go with another cycle? Xx

Blondie_81 in reply to ICSIRose

We were lucky enough to get 2 Frosties this cycle which will still count as our 3rd funded cycle I think so will go for those but looking into further testing to see if I have a high NK cell count or any other immunological issues which might be stopping embryo implantation.. don't want to just waste our 2 remaining precious embies πŸ˜₯ Our second cycle we had 2 day 3 embryos transferred and that was a BFN too so that's a total of 3 embryos now that haven't taken.. We will get our BFP's and babies to call our own!! X

Do you mind me asking if you have a male/female infertility factor or unexplained? It’s so difficult isn’t it! We only get one free cycle on the nhs due to our postcode so this cycle was funded, we have saved enough to go through it once more! It’s so difficult! Thank you for your support my lovely xx

Blondie_81 profile image
Blondie_81 in reply to ICSIRose

No I don't mind - we have 'unexplained' infertility which is frustrating as they haven't found anything wrong with us it's probably just my age and egg quality as before this last round I was a poor responder and only got 1 and then 4 eggs (11 this time tho!) Yeah we're very lucky in the north east to still get the 3 cycles on NHS not sure how long it will last.. I almost wish they had found a reason why we weren't conceiving at least we'd have an answer x

Yes, That must be so frustrating!!! I am 27 I got 6 eggs the first time and 12 this time... I am not sure what is normal? Xxx

So sorry to read this hun I know how hard this must be for you. Maybe for next time try wait to otd that way you don't get your hopes up. There's a reason they give an otd. I know we want to know early as possible but that's also how chemicals get picked up and sets us up for excitement then when the wicked witch shows her face we are even more upset. I'm an early tester if I have tests in the house so I try to not have any in, it is tough though especially when you get the cheapies on eBay. Take some time out hun grieve and be good to yourselves. It will happen hun πŸ’—πŸ€—πŸ˜˜

So sorry to read this Rose, I know how crushing it is to be happy so briefly..this happened to us on our last and final ivf and a few years ago naturally too. Its cruel, give yourselves time to get your heads together before you decide what to do next, and I hope you'll be ok xx

So sorry to hear this. It’s heart breaking! 😒 be kind to yourself. It will get easier. Sending hugs xxx

I'm so gutted for you. It's so devastating to have your hopes and dreams ripped away so quickly. I had a chemical back in March; I was 3 days late when I tested at 6.30am and got our longed for BFP. By 3pm i was bleeding heavily. Later that day I had to face my bff who was newly pregnant. It was unplanned.

I really hope you get a better outcome next time. Thinking of you xx

Ugh Jojo it’s so rubbish isn’t it! I’ve managed to get the rest of this week off work totally not in the right frame of mind to be sitting with lots of pregnant women! Are you going for another cycle?

in reply to ICSIRose

That was actually natural. I haven't had IVF yet - we've had 3 failed IUIs and have our IVF consultation on 8th November, so a long way to go yet! I can only imagine how it feels going through such invasive treatment only to end up with a bfn or, even more devastating, a miscarriage. The journey of infertility is tough no matter what though!

I'm glad you've got some time off to recover. Facing pregnant women is not easy when it's all you want to be pregnant! X

Sorry to read this. Look after yourself and take some time to get your head around it. As difficult as it must be knowing that you were so close at least it gives your clinic a possible idea of which stage things aren't working for you.
