Sorry for the strange question....after our mc a few weeks ago I really want to honour it somehow. I've decided I want to get a little tattoo on my wrist. Does anyone know if an ivf clinic will have an issue with this? We're looking at having icsi again in January. I've Googled it and the advice talks about infection due to dirty needles but most tattooists these days are very clean. Anyone have experience of this? I know my last clinic never asked but we're probably using a different clinic next time around. Hope this doesn't sound menial, its just important to me to mark the event somehow xxx

Myself & husband both have several tattoos each & were never asked when we got them etc most nurses just wanted to look at them lol
As long as you go to a reputable tattoo studio I can't see why there would be an issue. Do your research on the tattooist & check out their work on social media. Usually the good ones have waiting lists.
I think it's a lovely idea & will have it always x
Thanks I am going to get something in a sapphire colour to mark the birth month. I have a few tattoos already and they never asked during our last round so I assumed its ok. The tattoo studio is very well recommended in the area. I'd like to think they might do it for me today so hopefully I won't chicken out!!!
As you have a few already you know what to expect. Sapphire sounds lovely. You'll have to post a pic once it's done. You won't chicken out, after fertility treatment anything is easy lol
I got a tattoo just before starting my treatment about 6weeks before my clinic said I was ok. I think we put enough on hold for ivf cycle prob more than we need to my doctor said to relax and even have a glass of wine everything in moderation he says most baby's are convinced naturally after a bottle of wine. I laugh he's right. Do what's right for u Hun and good luck on ur journey 💗
Hello Lilli79 👋🏻 I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you don't mind me saying but I also considered getting a small love heart after my loss and I phoned my clinic about two months before I was due to start a fresh ICSI cycle to ask if this was ok. They said no and said I would need to wait until treatment was over. It may be worth phoning to double check as the last thing you want is for your treatment to get postponed. It's such a lovely idea and I am still keen to do it in the future (if I don't wimp out!). Wishing you all the best with your next cycle. Xx
Yeah, I'm kind of wondering how they'd know but I think I'll rethink after your comment now. Am hoping I won't be able to after treatment if I'll be pregnant!! 😍 I know it's not recommended when pregnant, and tattooists are not keen anyway in case you faint! Perhaps I'll get more info then decide xx
I feel terrible spoiling your lovely idea. I just didn't not want to say and then you have difficulties with your clinic. I had booked my appointment in for my tattoo (first ever!) and was quite looking forward to it so I know it's disappointing. Yes here's hoping it will be a long time before we are able to have a tattoo! Xx
Oh no don't worry at all. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I am going to an open evening for the fertility clinic next week so will ask then. I have always wanted to get a nose piercing so might go for that instead, probably safer. Good luck, hope you can get that tattoo for a new baby rather than a mc when you do decide to get one xx ❤️
