Waiting for a call back...

Hi everyone i wondered if you could give me any advice. So I'm waiting for a call back for a nurse appointment in order to discuss injections etc. I can't start IVF treatment until after this appointment but I'm worried they're not going to get back to me before the start of my next period (2 weeks). The hospital are aware of this and said last Monday I should expect a call this week (last week) but they never called. I called them today and tried to explain but they said I'm "in the book" and I just have to wait. My worry is if we don't start in 2 weeks we will have to wait until February due to various reasons including my partner going on holiday, wedding and honeymoon.

I feel quite frustrated as I just want to get on with things but there seems to be constant delay.

Could you possibly see your own practice nurse? It would take next to no time to be shown how to inject xxx

I asked that and they said no because they have to talk about the process in greater detail. I've read 100s of articles watched so many videos about the process I don't need to know anymore I just want to start lol!

Exactly! You can't really go wrong. Pretty unfair making you wait I think, could you maybe discuss it with someone senior? Xxx

The wait is so frustrating isn't it. I kept badgering my clinic for a consultant appointment when they just kept telling me I'm on the list. Eventually they gave me a cancelled appointment, I think just to get rid of me! For me the nurse appointment was really important. Even though I fully understood about the process the mixing of the injections had an element of complication to it so I can understand why the won't let you start without the appointment. My clinic doesn't give out meds until after the appointment either and they had to be delivered so make sure you factor that into your timings when you are phoning them. One other suggestion - when I was doing my cycle the clinic needed to delay the start by a week so on day 1 put me on the pill for a few days to delay everything. If it doesn't look like you'll get your appointment in time you could ask your clinic if they'll let you do the same so you don't have to completely delay.

Thank you for your reply that is really helpful. I will speak wit the clinic again on Wednesday if they haven't got back to me and maybe discuss contraception as an option. Xx
