Hi! I had unmedicated fets which resulted in both my miracles. Dd1 is 2.5 and her little sister is 3 weeks old. I did do the pessaries with both but the clinic still called them "unmedicated fets". I would ask the clinic why you don't need to do the pessaries; I'm sure there will be a good reason. Or maybe they will let you do them anyway as I'm sure they won't do any harm xxx

Hi there, I had a completely natural FET last November using the two remaining frozen embryos from my first fresh cycle that was unsuccessful. My little girl will be 3 weeks old tomorrow! All I had was one scan to check that my lining was doing what it should do, then I tested myself for ovulation and had transfer 7 days after the LH surge was detected. I had no meds, no pessaries, no trigger shot, nothing. I found it so much easier on my body, not to mention my mental health and stress levels. If we ever decide to try IVF again, I will definitely be freezing any embryos we get and going with a natural transfer again as, looking back on it, all the medication etc. of my fresh cycle made me so stressed and crazy that there was no way it was ever going to work. I guess it depends on the reasons for infertility as to whether they get you to take pessaries, but for us it was unexplained and my consultant assured me that my body would know what to do once the embryos were in there, and it did. Definitely don't worry - wishing you the very best of luck. Xxx

I had cramps from day 1 of transfer and period pains right through the first 2 trimesters of pregnancy - all good signs! Xx

Yes! My body did a much better job of building up my lining and I'm now in my second trimester :)

Sorry I didn't get to finish that message. I was going to say have faith in your body.

My natural cycle FET was much less stressful than the fresh cycle with artificial hormones.

Good luck.

Sorry to hijack the post but I'm having my first consultation on Monday to discuss FET so am very interested in unmedicated transfers. For you ladies who have been allowed them were your cycles very regular? From what I've read my clinic doesn't do unmedicated cycles because of the unpredictability of ovulation times and getting the transfer right but I really like the idea of an unmedicated cycle so would like to be armed with reasons why I should be able to have one. Thanks!

Hi there, my cycle was regular, give or take a couple of days and the nurses simply referred to a chart when telling me when I had to come in for transfer, which was 7 days after recording an LH surge, which occurs 24-48 hours before ovulation. You will therefore know 7 days before transfer when your transfer will be needed, which is more notice than you sometimes get with a fresh cycle! They did say at my clinic that if my transfer needed to take place on a weekend when there were no other procedures scheduled and therefore no other reason for staff to be in, that they wouldn't come in just for me and we would have to go again the next month, but we took the risk and luckily enough it all worked out ok. If you want a natural and there's no medical reason why it wouldn't work for you, I would insist on it. From the moment my consultant mentioned it as a possibility I knew it was the road I wanted to go down and I just knew it would work for us. So much about having a baby is instinctive and you should definitely trust your instincts if they're telling you to do something. Good luck! xxx

I have fairly regular periods most of the time and was told we could give a natural cycle a go, so we did!! And it worked!!

I was told to test ovulation and when it peaked I let clinic know and 5 days later we were in for transfer. Had a scan first to check womb lining was good and went ahead with the transfer.

It's so much less pressure on your mental state by not having the drugs and that can only be a positive thing. I think sometimes doctors thinks meds are the only answer but I think we should always give our bodies a chance first. You can try a medicated cycle IF natural doesn't work (which I hope it does for you)

Good luck at your consultation and whatever you decide to do xx

I did a completely natural FET cycle and am currently 15+3.

I opted to give the natural cycle a go after a failed fresh cycle a few months before. I honestly could bare the thought of more drugs as the last lost, (particularly the progesterone suppositories) sent me crazy!!! I didn't relax completely but I certainly felt better for not taking all the hormones and wonder if this helped us to get pregnant? Who knows?

Hope this helps, feel free to ask anything about the cycle.

Good luck xx

Hi I've just done a completely unmedicated frozen cycle, unfortunately wasn't successful but jumping straight in again with another one!

It's so much less stressful in the body and you can just concentrate on your wellbeing rather than worrying about injections and pessaries. I asked my clinic about pessaries on a natural and they said there's no evidence that it helps. They said it's my choice if I want them but to be honest having the faff of that 3 times a day and a constant reminder I think I'll opt without again for our second frozen.

When are you starting? Feel free to ask any questions, I'm happy to help xx

Sorry to hijack the post but just wondering if anyone paid for their unmedicated FET? We enquired briefly on what the cost of fet would be and they said about Β£1500 which seems alot

We got told the same price and we are with the Liverpool women's hospital x

My clinic charges Β£1,400 exc medication. I don't think they do an unmedicated cycle but if they did I'm guessing that's how much it would cost. I asked about the cost a few weeks ago and there were definitely others saying the cost was lower.
