Hope everyone is well - amazed at this process from reading on here and watching my daughter go through it for the first time.
She is 4 days post collection - 9 eggs fertilized and all have developed to 8 cells( what does that mean?) She is having ET tomorrow but they said could have had it possibly yesterday. If they have done so well why are they waiting till 5 days???
Thank you

Most clinics prefer to get to day 5 which is a blastocyst, where they develop more I think that's how you'd say it, I'm sure someone will answer in more detail, i had a day 5 put back and recently got a BFP, wishing your daughter lots of luck with ET tomorrow and make sure she rest and takes it easy after, xx
I think they like to wait til day 5 because they can grade them better and choose the best one to put back in on ET day. Wishing your daughter all the best for tomorrow. 9 is a brilliant number xx
Hi teeny1966. Well, all seems to be going well. They do try and get to blastocyst if possible, when the embryos are about 64 cell stage and ready to pop out of the "shell", which gives a higher success rate. However, we used to do all 3 day transfers at 4-8 cell stage and still got many successes. Wishing her well with whatever is decided - and of course for success! Diane
