Follow up consultation after loss

So we had our consultation with the clinic today after having to end first pregnancy at 13 weeks due to severe complications.

I didn't really know what to expect, I assumed we were going to discuss changing my drugs as I did not respond very well dispute being on very high dose of stimms, we had 4 follies, 3 eggs and only 1 fertilised.

He said that looking at that on paper I shouldn't have fallen pregnant and the fact that I did stumped him a little, he said if I hadn't fallen he wouldn't suggest that we try IVF again as I obviously don't respond to the treatment but because I did, he has to tell us to give it another shot.

So we are....now just waiting for AF (due to my irregular cycles this could be tomorrow or in 2 months) but he gave me a prescription to bring it on if I am getting impatient lol!

We have another meeting with the hospital at the end of the month to discuss the actual outcome of testing we had done to make sure there wasn't any genetic issues so think we will wait to start once we have had that meeting.

I feel good to go after having some time away from it all.

I'd change consultants my love. What an unfortunate appointment. He sounds very lacking in empathy to me when you really need it. I'm sorry you had an appointment like this. It seems similar to mine in that they're just so matter of fact. You feel like screaming that this is your life at them. Wishing you the best of luck for your next cycle. xxx
