I am new to this, me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years without any success. I now want to seek help from NHS. Do you guys know what the normal procedure is? What test will they take and how long is the waiting list?
Thank you every much!

We had to wait 7 weeks for my hospital appointment.
To speed things up ask the doctors to run bloods and request for the hospital to test your husbands sperm count. That way the doctors will have more of an idea of the course of treatment when you first see them at the hospital.
We went to the doctors at Christmas and had our first appointment in April. I had an under active thyroid so I had to increase my dose of leyothroxine. My cycles are really long up to 56 days. My blood work came back with high androgens which is symptomatic of PCOS. I was also overweight with my thyroid being under active so I was told to lose weight and come back.
Oh and at my first appointment I had an internal scan and they took our history.
My second appointment was in May my thyroid was under control and i had lost the weight so I'm now waiting to have a Hgc to see if my tubes are blocked. You have to have this between cd 4 and 10 and getting an appointment has been difficult with staff sick at the hospital and doctors been off on holiday.
I have my next appointment on the 15th of August not sure what will happen there probably not at lot with not being able to have the hgc.
We first went to the GP Jan 2016 they ran some blood tests on me and my husband did a sperm sample we had no obvious issues and was referred to our local hospital with our first appointment in April 2016 I was then referred for a lap and dye which I had in July 2016 and again no problems came up and we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I was then given clomid to try for 6 months with no success and have no been referred for IVF which hopefully we are due to start this month. There is slot of waiting initially I've found since we've been referred for IVF things have moved really quickly. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask - best of luck xxx
All your fertility tests you get for free, we get one NHS funded round of IVF after this we'll have to pay if we want anymore. I know the number of rounds of you get depends on where your area and where your registered GP is the hospital should be able to explain all this to you. To be honest I didn't consider IVF at first tried to be positive and think we wouldn't need it but unfortunately it wasn't the case however now we are due to start IVF I feel really optimistic x
