Hello that's great isn't it. How was the consultation? xx

Yeah it was positive!

as soon as we got in they did the monoxide test then went for the talk with the doctor. They go through all the paper work you filled out, then because i had an ectopic pregnancy they wanted a bit of info about that and also because my other tube is blocked there was a slight issue to find out if it was just blocked or if it was blocked with fluid ... if it was blocked with fluid that can reduce the chances of it implanting so i may of had to have the other tube removed or clamped which would of obviously pushed everything back further! So i said we would just carry on and i would double check, luckily it was just blocked because it was fatty or something so we could carry on :)

So the next steps are to call the day i come on my period which is due the 20th July then on day 21 i will be starting my injections ect and the process if all goes normal takes 7 weeks so by the 2nd week of October i should know if it has been successful :D xx

Wow that's good news.

When do you get shown how to inject, and how does the medication work? Do they send it to you? x

So i had to call the clinic to book the injection training and to sign the consent forms when i called the appointments weren't available to view so i only booked the consent signing which is on the 27th of this month and im going to book in my injection training then.

With the meds once you call them to tell them you have come on, they send them to your home then from day 21 you start the injections :) x

Great news! It must be a relief to finally start. We're waiting for the go ahead and it's so loooong! Can I ask - how do you know whether your tubes are blocked with fluid or otherwise? I haven't been told this but have been advised it might be worth having them clamped before we start ivf and I'm confused and not sure what's best. Thanks and best of luck! Xxx

Hello, so when they done the dye test i think they can see from there and i got a letter just saying about what they found, they did say about clamping mine or having it removed before we started because i couldn't remember what was wrong with mine, and if it is blocked and has fluid it reduces the chance of the success rates :| xx

Oh I see. Thanks Rubidge. Did you go ahead and have them removed before starting ivf? I feel really worried and daunted by that, even though I know I can't get pregnant anyway if they are blocked. It's hard making so many decisions when we're so stressed and anxious about it all!!

No just because i wasn't prepared to wait even longer and it might not have even been the case, so i asked him if i could have a look for the paper work and i called the hospital and they told me everything was okay so i just carried on with the IVF. Yeah it is awful it just feels like hurdles we have to constantly have to jump over! I only have 1 tube anyway now so i suppose i didn't really want to have my last one removed as well :( x

Ah that's brilliant news, glad it went well for you. We're all guilty of a melt down before apts - I've now convinced myself if I don't stress before it the apt won't bring positive news (crazy I know) lol x
