EC Day

Morning all, egg collection this morning. I havent slept very well the last 3 nights (maybe weather related) I'm very bloated, it hurts my stomach when i pass urine (due to pressure on bladder i think) It even hurts when i try to stand up and when im standing up and ive woken up in a rash on my chest which i think might be stress related! Has anyone else had anything similar??

Good luck today. I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable. Due for EC on Friday but don't sound as uncomfortable as you I'm afraid. Just drink loads of water. xxx

I was ok until today. Every step i took hurt, i thought something was seriously wrong with me lol. Im home and resting though. Good luck for yours x

with my previous ivfs I felt really sick.

I didn't really notice anything til the scans started on day 7, from then on it was a noticeable heaviness. and snug jeans were uncomfortable. after the trigger it got pretty uncomfortable. first ivf breasts blew up huge right after trigger. second ivf it was gradual throughout stimming. (different protocols)

Both of them didn’t work for me, next step is de ivf.

I felt bloated. Very. Lethargic, it was a serious effort to walk into town and back a couple of days before EC (a ten minute walk up and ten minutes back) on my way home carrying just 2pts of milk, some rolls and a cushion I had to stop and sit on someone's wall. I broke down and honestly thought I couldn't walk any further. Luckily my Auntie was coming down the road and carried my measly shopping home for me. I didn't walk, I shuffled home! It's not nice but it will soon be over and you'll slowly begin to feel more comfortable. Good luck for EC (if you haven't had it already) 🍀 xx

Thank you. Id been a little tender for a couple of days like mild period pains but today was something else lol. Its over now though and i got 15 eggs. Xx

More than i expected, when i had my scan on monday i only had 11 follicles that were above 16mm so 15 eggs was great x

Thank you all. I was so worried. Thankfully everything went well and they collected 15 eggs. Im now home and very tired x

This is brilliant news, when are they put back in? I'm due my scan tomorrow to see my egg size and then I'll have EC which I'm a little concerned about. Not scared but more anxious of how I'll feel afterwards. Xx

Transfer will be friday or monday. This is my first cycle. Id been absolutely fine just a little bloated but this morning i was in agony. Everyone at the hospital was so lovely though. I havent got any pain at the minute just a little tender and so tired!

This is my first cycle too, you'll be fine and it will be so worth it. Have a good rest and sleep. I'm glad the hospital are supportive too that comforts me. I think mine will be removed next week xx

Hi Hayleigh86. Oh dear, you sound so uncomfortable. Make sure you drink plenty of water, especially as it is so hot too. Have a rest when you can and keep an eye on your urine output. If it goes down a lot and you get chesty, you need to see a doctor in case of OHSS. You can safely take some paracetamol for any pain if you need it, unless something else has been prescribed. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Hope all soon settles down for you and fertilisation goes to plan. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you diane, i have got some pain killers from the hospital but will try to manage on paracetamol. Although i dont have any pain at the moment. My lovely husband is waiting on me hand and foot and i think ill be in bed the rest of the day lol.

I had very similar symptoms to you. You will get some relief from these after a few days once EC is done.

I had similar symptoms of abdominal pain (generally and on passing urine), bloating and general tiredness. I found holding my abdominals when I urinated helped for a bit. The rash could be stress or the heat tbh. If it doesn't go see someone about it. 15 eggs is fab so you just rest up now. I hope you manage to get some sleep and good luck for the phone call today xxx

Hospital have just rang and i have:-

9 fertalised

3 abnormal

1 immature

1 didnt fertalise

1 no zoner (i think that is what she said, dont know what that means and was too busy thinking about the 9 fertalised to ask)
