Hi bfrida. Hope this helps. A good diet to have at this time consists of variety, however, I have listed some of the “good” things to have: Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid! Hope this helps and all the best with the 2WW. Diane
Oh, thank you very much for your reply. I thought no one would reply to me thread. I don't know if this is interesting for other women. I was curious, what kinds of food are considered to be healthy and appropriate for eating during 2ww. As far as I know it is very good to keep any kind of fertility diet but I can't avoid eating sweets. This is stronger than me, I'm a big fun of bananas as well haha
Hi bfrida. My pleasure, and good luck with it all. Diane
A big luck is what I really need right now, my blood test has showed negative result. Could you believe in that? I was a nice girl, didn't have any bad habits, drink a lot of water, ate only fresh food, a lot of vitamins, and slept enough... why it didn't work for me I do not really understand... I'm devastated.
Hi bfrida. So sorry to hear this, and I wish I had some answers for you, but sadly I don't, even though it happens so many times. Hopefully your specialist will discuss it with you when you go for your follow up appointment, and maybe have some answers. Thinking of you. Diane
thanks dear, it's mean a lot to me. actually my doc told me that there is a small chance my body will respond to a stimulation one more time. my body is already weak so she was nice and explained us that this is better to try other ways of dealing with out problem. But we still have a opportunity to MOVE ON
sorry to read all isn't well xx
yes, I know it's hard to accept but what I could do in this case. I could just pray for a healthy baby and safe pregnancy.
Every day I see lots of infertile couples are suffering from this issues and I do really understand them. I wish we could deal with infertility and we all would gain happiness.
I was thinking the same this morning! Thanks for posting Bfrida! DianeArnold ive seen people cutting out cold drinks on here in 2ww. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Being abroad is quite hard. I seem to be able to get chicken and breads and cereals and lots of salad and fruits. But the only fat off your list I can see is raw/cold sweet corn. Which I love. just worried my Diet may suffer until I'm home... xx
You are always welcome!!! I'm glad you find my post interesting to read
I didn't think about that. Actually I didn't drink any cold cold drinks
I was told that Brazil nuts and avocado should be in 2ww diet, did you eat them as well?
why do you think so? I mean 'just worried my diet may suffer until I'm home'
Just because when I am home I can control everything, we are in cyprus having treatment at the moment. Brazil nuts aren't easy to come by! Haha! x
Hi emu2016. The logic behind cold drinks, is that if you are hot and have a cold drink, your body has to heat up the liquid, and often makes you feel even warmer. So, drinking a warm drink doesn't "shock" your system. I was brought up in Australia, and we always had a warm drink - not hot - to quench our thirst! Just do what you can food wise, that all that can be expected of you. Good luck. Diane
