Anybody else's dose been altered?

I've just been for my scan and while I have around 20 follicles growing, a lot aren't at the required stage. They have now increased my dosage to 4 amps of merinol. Has this happened to anybody else?

This is my first IVF cycle and we're also having ICSI.

Yes I was taking menapur and was told to increase mine so I was taking double the amount. It worked as I was able to do EC on Wednesday 5th April as apposed to Friday that week. Which meant I was able to have ET on Monday 10th April.

We're currently on the 2WW.

Fingers crossed you get lots of squishy eggs xx

Yeah in my first ivf round I went from 150-225 then this round they have started me at the 225 and I then didn't have to change it all, are you on first round? It's all a bit trial and error I think with the 1st to get your dosage right to see how your body responds xx

Yep it's my first round. They expected me to respond really well from my last blood test and obviously it hasn't happened quite as planned so had to have bloods done again and now on the extra merinol. Thank you for your response xxx

I had an extra dose thrown in on the morning of the scan. They didn't want my front runners to overmature and the ones lagging to be no good. 20 is a high number to be going in with plus they get an extra boost in size after the trigger injection x

That makes me feel better. Thank you! I have Endo on my left which is why they think that side may not be responding as well 🙄 Xxx

Bloody endo needs to sod off. I got a bit of pain in my kidneys and on my left where I have an endo patch during DR and stims. Dread to think what is going on in there. I think my pain was me hammering the water intake and I'm just not used to it. Now back to drinking like a desert animal and it's not so bad :-)

If you are getting discomfort a water bottle really helped me through this stage x

Hi. I was kept on the same dose but for longer. The follicles matured after that. X

Yes I was started at 4 amps and was then increased to 5 amps for the last couple of days prior to the trigger - I have endo mainly on my right so like you there were follicles hiding and they wanted to up my dose to see if they could grow those to be accessed - as soon as they upped my dose the lazier follicles kicked into action! By the time I had my last scan, the trigger and the day of EC lots had changed! It really is a bit of a trial to see how you respond - hang in there and wishing you all the best x

Thank you so much for your response. It makes me feel a lot more hopeful. You can't help but stress about every stage to this but it's so reassuring hearing others experience xxx

We had to abandon our first cycle before egg collection as my folicles didn't grow enough and had all been growing at different rates. I started 2nd cycle with menopur and bemfola and hey presto.... I am now on my 2ww.

Everyone reacts differently to the drugs and sometimes things need altering. Good luck xx
