Hi Ladies. I was wondering if anyone has issues with being cold a lot. I always have cold feet and when I went to my acupuncturist he said I am cold and that I need my uterus warming up. I'm wondering if it's just me or if other people have this too. Thanks, x

Does anyone else have circulation problems?
I'm exactly the same, always have cold feet & hands! My acupuncturist said to keep my feet warm. I've not to drink cold drinks if possible or eat cold raw food! She's working on building & moving the blood. My clinic actually put me on aspirin to which is meant to help circulation but wouldn't do that without speaking to your clinic.xx
Thank you for replying. It's good to know it's not just me. I'll ask the clinic next time I'm there about aspirin. Yes my acupuncturist has said I've got to wear proper shoes with thick soles all of the time. They said no ballet pumps! I'm just debating whether to get an electric blanket so I can go to bed warm. My feet are always like ice cubes. I've got Ugg slippers which help but am still chilly. x
I've never been diagnosed with any problems re; my uterus and circulation but when I was a child my Doctor said I had bad circulation. I do get very cold feet. I have a hot water bottle with slippers attached! I also have a very light period, hardly any red blood which has always struck me that my lining can't be that great. No one has ever made the connection or taken my concerns seriously! I took L'Arginine to promote the blood flow. Made no difference. I'm now going to try a Cacao supplement because I've heard it improves circulation. I figure anything is worth a try xx
Just a thought Vicky. My acupuncturist had miscarriages & she took aspirin which helped. Maybe ask your clinic too to see if they think it might help. I got told to take it to improve blood flow to help my lining!xx
Thank you. I was taking it on both of my cycles. During ivf must be the only time I get a nice healthy lining! I also took if for a few months prior to ivf while ttc but it made no difference 😞 The Doctors don't care that my period is so so light, they're more concerned that it's regular. I had extensive blood work at the clinic which didn't reveal any underlying problems either. I just don't understand my body sometimes 😞 xx
You think they would listen. Mine is super light. Barley medium flow for one day then 2light then 1 spotting. Ridiculous. But like you they just care that im regular
I even had bad chilblains on my toes when I was little, so bad I cried they were so painful! But no one has put 2 + 2 together and suggested my periods may be light because of my circulation. I have about two tablespoons of red and the rest is brown blood (sorry if that's tmi) but like I said no one cares. Not my Doctor or my Gynaecologist. I suppose it's not an issue at the clinic because of all the drugs they give me to support my lining.. I swear I think I'd have got pregnant naturally if only I had a proper bleed every month.. I always get normal results on bloods and no problems with my X-rays no blockages etc xx
If only we could all show up en mass somewhere and demand them to listen to us. Bad circulation vs fertility. There has to be a link. Gah. 😫 so frustrating. Im suprised how many of us are the same.
My period sounds the same as yours. Ive tried fertility massage and acupuncture but they only helped a smidge.
Thanks for replying. Yeah it's just my acupuncturist who has said that's my problem. The clinic haven't said a thing. I went to a homeopath about my periods a while back. I was spotting for a week before coming on and it was frustrating me. She sorted me out straightaway with some herbal things but the other tip she gave me was to avoid using tampons. She said they can block and cause build up where as towels keep it flowing. I have tried to follow her advice in the hope it will help. Try anything really. x
Tugsgirl, have you had your thyroid levels checked? Had mine done the other day and it is v high (over-active) - just thought of it as one of (the many) symptoms is having light periods. This was completely missed by the clinic on my first IVF round and I wish I had known about it sooner! Xxx
I had miscarriage and implantation failure blood tests after my first round. They assured me that EVERYTHING would be checked. They took 6 vials of blood. It cost £850. All came back normal. I'm stumped. Many years ago my periods were heavy (my late teens and up to mid twenties). So I had put it down to being on the pill for most of my adult life, which I was put on for heavy bleeding at 14. But I don't have very good circulation and my feet are always cold so I dunno... like I said no one seems to think my light periods are a problem except me. How can I have a lining suitable for implantation (in a natural situation) if my period is so light? Xx
I know what you mean - doesn't seem logical does it. I hope your clinic give you some good advice going forward - such a frustrating, lonely position to be in. Just ask them to double check you had thyroid 2 with antibodies done - no harm in making sure. All the best my lovely xxxx
I will definitely ask them at my follow up appointment. Not had the courage to book it after my miscarriage yet. Thank you for the advice xx
Wow i am exactly the same as you (re period). My acupuncturist said to keep warm eat warm etc. Same ad the others were told. Ive asked about my lining and wen checked it meet the minimum of what it should be. But surely thicker is better. No one seemed to think it was an issue though. But still no baby. Sigh.
I take vitamin e 1000mg which is meant to help. But who knows. It all gets a bit confusing.
I noticed that my circulation has been worse since I stopped running at the beginning of this year in preparation for IVF and because I thought a more sedate me might get pregnant more easily. That didn't come true so I'm going back to exercising moderately, which I hope will help with my circulation. Plus if I'm exercising I'm hoping I'll feel healthier and more able to deal with the stress of the next round.
Thanks. That's a good point. I think I need to do some more exercise. My list of things to try is getting longer but you're right. Hopefully it'll lead to reduced anxiety.
I am always freezing even in summer I get chilly very easy, if I do get cold it takes me ages to get warm again. Have you had your thyroid checked recently my consultant is checking mine next week as he said if it's slightly out it can impact on treatment xx
Thanks! I haven't had it checked recently so might ask them to check it too. My feet are always cold even in summer. X
Me too, and my acupuncturist also said warmth is important for conception. So my buserelin hot flushes must be a good thing!!!
I recently bought some lovely cosy bed socks from amazon. Cheap but so effective that I have to take them off after about half an hour as my feet get so toasty x
I've always had cold hands and feet and suffered from chilblain mainly in the feet and generally I think I am often a cold person. My acupuncturist always encourages me to walk and move regularly to keep the blood flowing and works to increase blood flow in our sessions. It's quite strange to see so many of us experience the same problems xxx
I also have the same issue my feet and hands r always cold.dureing cold weather dureing sumar im gine. I have a small fan heater which i use to warm up my bed and my feet when my feet are warm enough i turn it off. Also i warm my feet with fan heater and put socks on and put really warm slippers that coverall the foot plus the ankles like boots.xxx
Yes yes yes. I do. I've gotten raynards and very low body fat. I've been prescribed junior aspirin. When I started IVF I couldnt exercise as much and as a result put weight on which I think greatly contributed to me fallen pregnant. I'm 12 wks 👌😊
My acupunturist said exactly the same to me. Think she went a step further and said my oven needed to be warm lol.
All the best xx
Only recently my thyroid checked... Mine too high in ivf world... If not it would of been borderline.. I was put on low dose of levethyroxine.. Worth checking xx
It's so bizzare reading all these posts! I'm 100% the same , have raynards in my feet , terrible circulation , feet and hands always freezing. When I asked about asprin my clinic were very dismissive. So many of us on here seem to have bad circulation , is that just a coincidence ?
No ones really ever said anything about it to me but I do suffer really cold hands & feet all the time x
I have raynauds syndrome have had it since I was a child, extremely cold hands and feet all year round, I'm either white or purple due to my circulation being so poor, I'm constantly layered up all the time, mentioned it to the clinic and they have said it's possible that I've not been able to maintain a pregnancy due to my circulation and I could have had many early miscarriages that I wouldn't have known about. They have also said I'm not ovulating and my egg reserve is very high due to this and it's linked to low body mass and my circulation. I'm waiting to go back to the clinic for my treatment planning appointment I'll see what they say and what meds they give me that may help with this.
Hi
Just wanted to add that I too have raynauds, bad circulation and very cold hands and feet - always suffer badly with chilblains. I was underweight (not massively) when I started IVF and have a low egg reserve. I also have low platelets and suspected ITP. I did read in a fertility book that there may be a link between raynauds and fertility but nobody at my clinic ever considered it to be a problem.
On a positive note, my second round of IVF was successful and I now have a 5month old baby boy and 2 embryos frozen, so poor circulation doesn't stop IVF being successful and there is still hope.
Good luck to everyone xx
I have Raynauds as well, and if I'm not careful I get super painful chilblains and my toes swell up to twice their size. I didn't take aspirin at all during my treatment but had to inject a heparin which really increases blood flow so maybe this had a huge impact. It does seem like a lot of us have bad circulation and that being linked to a lower chance of implantation makes sense. But then my sister is even worse than me in terms of circulation yet she has had 4 unplanned pregnancies despite having PCOS.
Thank you everyone so much for replying. It does seem to be a coincidence. I too have low platelets so I was wondering if that is an issue. I think I'm going to go ahead and get an electric blanket. I've just got home from work and taken my Ugg (black leather so I can wear them to work) boots off and my feet are freezing! Xxx
I think we all need to emigrate to a warmer climate 🙄xx
I live in Perth Australia which is generally above 20° 9 months of the year and i still feel the cold. Haha. Cant win. If only it was a lovely island with sunshine and warmth all year round with ppl pampering us haha no stress 100% relaxation
Guess I'll have to put the idea on hold then 😄100% relaxation sounds nice though xx
I also have raynards and poor circulation. My feet are ALWAYS cold and my hands on and off. I have suffered with chilblanes when I worked outside. Interestingly my only other friend who has suffered with fertility issues also had raynards.
Our fertility issues are DH sperm motility, so not sure if it makes a difference? All of my tests have been fine although I haven't had my thyroid checked.
I also have light, short periods. Apart from the bleed I just had after my cancelled cycle.
Getting rescanned next week to hopefully start the long protocol (again!!).
Xx
