Can we take ibuprofen during down reg? I'd absolutely not take it during stims but what about now? No amount of fluids are helping and paracetamol just takes edge off. Also using the forehead cooling strips. Feeling awful and going to stay with friends for the weekend had this since waking up at 7 am x

Migraine- what can we take?
Hey WeeMrsH ! I can sympathise with you. I had bad headaches when down regulating and my clinic told me at no time could I use ibuprofen. They said codine was ok so I opted for co-codimol for strength which really helped! Hope you're feeling better soon!xx
Good to know thanks @cinderella5. I can't usually take codeine though! Makes me feel really nauseous which with migraine nausea won't be ideal 😩. I had them really bad on last cycle but this time has really just been daily headaches - until today!! They are so debilitating. Thanks for your advice xx
It's not recommended to take any ibuprofen during your cycle though I must admit I relented (only before et) after getting terrible migraines that saw me sent to the hospital by my doctor.. CoCodamol is ok as it doesn't contain Ibuprofen, if you want something stronger than paracetamol that is. Drink lots of water. I found lying still with a hot water bottle (of all things!) on my head really eased the constant pain xx

I had one earlier in the week and the only things that helped were a warm bath and sleep. I felt nauseous too. Mine lasted about 24hours then I was ok. I only took paracetamol every six hours and used a scented forehead roller stick too.
I hope you feel better soon.
It's eased off now (just a dull headache) but I couldn't sleep this morning as pain was too much. The forehead cooling strip was what helped and the paracetamol took the edge off. xx
I just remembered after reading Lizzie's post above. The best thing for me to do with a migrane is to take pain killers then have a hot bath and put my head under the water so it covers everything apart from my nose to breath of course and just lie like that for a while. Dont know why it works but it sorts me out, tip from my dad who also gets migranes!xx
Thanks everyone for your help! xx
Oh no...that's not good!
I'd asked about migraines and tablets when we had the first cycle and they said I could take the stuff that i am prescribed from having them on a 'normal' day...zolmatriptan...thankfully I didn't need to.
With your index finger of one hand, place it on the other hand, in between the index finger and middle finger, just below the knuckle. Put some pressure on the underneath of your hand with your thumb. You should find a point where you can feel a dull ache, hold it there for a few minutes and do it on the other hand too..
My acupuncturist told me about that point for migraines and there is one on the bottom of your foot too which hubby can do. I'm not sure my description will work that well though!!
Oh my word you ladies are amazing. Been awake since 3am with a crippling headache. Paracetamol just didn't touch it but the hot water tip has eased it enough that I think I can get through work today (whilst drinking three gallons of water!!). Thank you!
Ps hope you've not had anymore bad ones WeeMrsH. X
Yesterday MrsB76, but not as badly as this one! Hope you feel better and at least partially functioning! I didn't get to sleep till 12.30am- despite dozing on the sofa at 9pm previously (wtf, hot, restless legs, and pulse pounding in ears (swear that last one should be used as a form of torture) ), and up at 5.45am to drive to clinic. Having a coffee while I wait!! xx
Oh no poor you. I struggled through yesterday but am staying at home today. Feel just terrible and can't face the drive. Really hoping this is just my body adjusting and it'll ease soon.
How did your first stims injection go last night? Hope you're not getting a reaction from that too!
Take care. Xx
I'm doing morning so just did 1st one at 7am! I hate the mixing, always worry I'm losing fluid! And hate having to break the glass...eurgh- glad 1st one done hopefully they get easier now.
Hope you feel better soon xxx
