Hi has anyone had this done?? Apparently I need this before my next round of IVF. My uterus is heart shaped and following two miscarriages and stillbirth they think this may help me to have full term pregnancy.
Any stories or positive outcomes with this!???
Waiting for operation date to come through hope it's quick x

I don't but I just want to wish you luck for the op and a speedy recovery. Hope they give you a date soon. We all feel better once we have goals to work towards. X
Sorry but never heard of such a problem.. I can't understand how it influences the emby. Just wonder how your doc explains the process. What's going on?
Oh, I see. I believe surgery will help you and you'll get good results and successful pregnancy. When is it to take place? And how long will you have to recover after? Wish you well x
Hi Missy_22. I know it as a hysteroscopic metroplasty. It's a form of plastic surgery on the womb. Some women have what is called a septum which divides the womb into two, and can just be a partial division or whole. In some case it is just a flap of tissue a bit like a curtain. However, women who have been susceptible to miscarriages, it is thought best to remove this, in order for a foetus to grow to term. Hopefully should be straightforward, and often just done as a day case. It's great that modern instruments allow this, as it adds greatly to more successful births. Good luck and I will be thinking of you. Diane
Hi - so sorry for your losses. I didn't quite have what you have but I had a subseptate uterus I think (originally wrongly diagnosed as a bicornuate uterus) - when we were waiting for IVF about 18 months ago we found out we had got pregnant naturally but miscarried at almost 12 weeks - the hospital assessed that as the foetus grew it possibly realised there was not enough space which contributed to the miscarriage - I had this rectified through surgery along with endo removal so hoping we have better chances with IVF now. Sounds like this is something you should def do and fingers crossed this works for you - I had to stay in overnight in the end but only because I was the last surgery of the day - discomfort for a couple of weeks but nothing major - v glad I had it done - hope they get you in quickly x
