Hi everyone hope you're all well. I'm due to tell my clinic when my next period starts (which is due this weekend). I'm confused as my first scan date is 24/05. I'm just unsure what they'll be doing with me from now until then! My understanding was you down regulated for around two weeks. I'm on long protocol, any light shed would be much appreciated! Lots of love πππππΈπΊπΉ
Date confusion!: Hi everyone hope you... - Fertility Network UK
Date confusion!
If you're due on this weekend you will the have to wait until day 21 on long protocol I think. You'll then start drugs until your first scan so guessing that they are expecting you to down reg for around 4 weeks rather than your expected two.
That's just what I've learnt from updates on here though, others may be able to shed light on it. And if all else fails I'm sure your clinic will be happy to clarify.
Hope you get it all sorted. X
Thanks for your reply, I'm sure it will all make sense as it unfolds! I came to the same conclusion as you down regulating for 4weeks, but that seems like a lot especially as the pill makes me go a bit crazy! Xxx
For me, it was ring on day of period in order to calculate day 21, start down regging on day 21 then wait for bleed. Last time my period was a couple of days late once I started down regging. After I had had a bleed I had to continue down regging then once they thought my lining was thin enough they started me on the stims but I had to take them alongside the buserelin (suprecur) that was my down reg drug. It was 6 1/2 weeks between starting to down reg and EC for me last time, but could have been a week less if there hadn't been problems with my trial ET. I was on the down-reg buserelin injections for around six of those weeks.
My down reg is 3.5 weeks so as the ladies have said above you prob need to wait for next period to start, once you have this one. Good luck hon xx
I'd also say, don't count on any of the dates they give you too much... they can change depending on what your body does. I learned last time that I had to be more flexible than I am usually comfortable with!
