I know this is a long shot, but are there any ladies on Progynova and lamictal? I've read that it can make the lamictal less effective, but is that worse case?! If there's any ladies with epilepsy and have done a FET can you let me know please as I'm freaking out a bit!! Thank you! Xx

Hi Aleelilook. As far as I know Lamictal is one of the safer options to take for epilepsy during fertility treatment and pregnancy. However, if all goes well, then your baby may have to have a bit of the drug for a few days after birth to prevent withdrawal symptoms, but should not be a problem. Remember that your own body will produce progesterone when pregnant, so no need to worry about the extra you have to take, as it shouldn't interact with the drug. All the best and I shall be thinking of you. Diane

Hi Aleelilook . I realise this was posted a long time ago, but I'm currently in the same position (taking Lamotrigine for epilepsy and Progynova in preparation for FET) and found this in a search. Did everything work out for you? Were there any problems with regards to your epilepsy?
