hi I know you can't take the normal Dulcolax but I think there's a pregnancy safe one you can buy - think its in a pink box. The chemist should be able to tell you. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy xx
Prunes and prune juice sorted my friend out, big time (her words not mine) lol 😂 x
Hiya, I took lactulose solution, you can buy it at a pharmacy, it really helped me. I was also give glucose suppositories that go up the bum, they work in 30 minutes! The pharmacist gave me these as they're both safe in pregnancy, hope you get some relief soon, it's awful x
I second this - I tried lactulose solution first but all it did was make me sick (am still suffering from daily sickness though at 17 weeks). It's the sweetest thing I've ever tasted. The GP then gave me glycerin suppositories which were like bullets made of jelly! Worked like a dream within about 20 mins and much easier to use than progesterone suppositories. I've felt much better ever since
Good luck! Xx
Thanks everyone xx
Hi hmb1. Fybogel and Lactulose are your best bets, as they encourage water to be absorbed into your intestines, so that it helps to push the "poo" along. Drink loads of water and eat dates and fruit and veg. Someone mentioned glycerine suppositories too, they are fine too. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Diane
