Egg baby transfer
I've only gotten to embryo transfer twice and both times I had a cold and nasty cough. Both times I implanted. First time I lost our baby at 6 weeks and this time I'm waiting for our 12-13 week scan so I don't think it matters as long as you take care of yourself and take it easy. I was terrified the coughing fits would affect implantation but despite my fears I really think it doesn't. Don't let it stress you out too much I know you must have enough to worry about. Good luck and feel better xxx
Thanks for your reply! I am a primary teacher and my job is on the go 24-7 will that decrease success rate too? X
I don't think so. Just make sure you don't lift heavy things and if your body starts to feel run down try and rest where you can. Most women get pregnant and carry on as normal without knowing for a long time. I'm not an expert of course but when I asked my specialist what I could do she said if it didn't work, I'd blame everything I didn't do on that failure so do what you need to make the list shorter. I had 7 days off after transfer this time as it gave me more security that little bean had implanted safely before I went back to work. You don't have to, some women go back to work the same day but my gut told me to have the time off so I did. I did move around though to keep the blood flowing but I know a lot of women said being at home gave them too much thinking time and it drove them mad lol so it depends on the woman. Just know you can go back to work and science says it won't affect your little one, but go with what you feel you need to do. You're the most important person right now, you need to feel personally like whatever the outcome, you did everything you could xxx
Hi Poppyjay,
I was supposed to start my round 2 ivf last month but was hospitalised with quincy and have been generally run down since. I start my round 2 today - all being well with the baseline scan - and have had similar concerns to you.
However, I've read lots of women say that they've had successful ivf while ill so I'm heartened by that fact, fingers crossed we'll be ok!
Best of luck with your transfer hun! Xx
