IVF coming soon..,

Hi everyone very new to writing about our journey! So my wife and I have been going through the fertility process since Dec '15 and I have been diagnosed with PCOS early last year. We have obviously opted for donor sperm and have a perfect match for us.

We had an abandoned cycle in September 16 due to no response on the meds then following changes and adding 3 jabs on menopur at the end we had our go at IUI in December 16. Unfortunately that wasn't meant to be and now have embarked on our IVF option and will start meds on Feb 22nd with scans, bloods etc all booked in for March and egg collection near the end of March.

Whoosh!! Such a lot to get my head around this time and I'm very nervous about the egg collection process! Can anyone offer advice please?

Many thanks x

Hi & welcome 😊

I can tell you that it will be no where as bad as you think in your head. I am one week down in the 2 weeks wait to see if our ivf has been successful. The egg collection I can hardly remember I was awake but sedated, I literally remember going in the room & leaving the room & that's it! The egg transfer I was awake for and it felt like a longer version of a smear test uncomfortable but no pain. Hope that puts your mind at ease and lots of luck your way x

Hi Sunnysam91. I can fully understand your anxieties. IVF is never an easy option to go through, but I'm sure with the support from your clinic, yourselves and the people here you will get through it all. Just make sure you have some sedation before they do the egg collection, and all should be OK. Have a good rest afterwards and drink plenty of water. All I can do is to wish you both well with it all and of course for success. Thinking of you. Diane

Thankyou kindly Diane, I'm glad I plucked up the courage to write on here I like the fact it's a uk website as it's quite difficult to find a good one and it's seems like a wonderful fertility family x
