IVF whirlwind

We had our egg collection last Friday. We needed 8 in order to egg share, but we retrieved 7 so were not able to do so. Initially, this was a bit confusing as I had 14 good sized follicles and the clinic would not usually put an egg sharer through for collection if they thought they would get less than the egg share minimum. I’m just relived that the recipient had previously pulled out because we would have felt awful.

The actual egg collection procedure was absolutely fine.

After that initial stress we realised that these seven eggs were all ours. But we couldn’t get excited, and we still can’t - too many hurdles to jump aren’t there! No one will understand the IVF journey. High hopes, low expectations. 🤞🏻

Currently all 7 have fertilised and today is day three - we had to wait till ONE PM - to find out the next update. All 7 are still in the running; three good, one average and three slow.

Booked for Weds transfer. Blessed to have got this far.

Hey I'm going for my first appointment on 21st to have my blood tests etc and I'm going to be a egg sharer I didn't know they was

a minimum I just thought they tock half was it a long process from first appointment til now as I know my eggs got to be screened and then find me a match, not found anyone that has egg shared
