Morning everyone, I've woke up this morning with tonsillitis, has anyone else been ill whilst on down reg injections if so have you been able to take anything? I'm in agony xx

I've had tonsillitis many times it's so painful you poor thing.

Medically I cannot advise you what to do- I think you should contact your clinic and see what the nurse says. Some antibiotics are safe to take in pregnancy and maybe your GP could prescribe you some.

I found ice lollies a gods send when suffering with tonsillitis.

Make sure you rest up.

I hope you feel better soon and hope this dosent affect your IVF cycle in anyway ❤️

Thank you for your reply, I've actually got an appointment with the clinic later today so I'm going to speak to them and see what they say because seeing as not actually pregnant yet I'm hoping they will let me take some antibiotics and it not affect my ivf cycle!

I've suffered with tonsillitis all my life it's a pain in the bum!! And it's just typical I've not been ill all year and now Ive started the Ivf I get ill 😡😡

There is a safe antibiotic to take in pregnancy-I can't remember its name but when we've trying and I've had a sinus infection the nurse/dr will prescribe knowing they are safe in pregnancy.

I don't see why you can't take that antibiotic-You can't do this cycle really ill.

It's probably all the pent up stress coming out now IVF is happening-I bet it's quite common. Once the stress is over is when our bodies react to this stress.

Thank you, yes I will ask them later. To be fair I don't feel stressed I'm really calm going into this second one, I think it's cause I chilled over xmas and my body is just relaxed which has rough on the illness 😢 Xx

I've just come across this post did they clinic tell you what you can have? Im currently on day 5 of first ivf Icsi cycle and Im on day 4 of anti biotics due to a acute infection in my wisdom teeth which both dentist and pharmacist said were fine to take during cycle also I know you can be given anti biotics during pregnancy for infection so fingers crossed they've given me the right stuff. I haven't had problems for over a year either must be the stress and uncertainty x

i actually had an appointment at the clinic when i was ill. they advised me i was fine to have antibiotics whilst on the down reg injections but im not aloud to take anything when im on the gonal f injection. what injection are you on?

Im on merional and orgratulan so I think Im ok Im on low dose of both and I did ask both dentist and pharmacist to double check for me so fingers crossed all is ok I couldn't have coped without them I wanted to pull my teeth out ha ha x

I'm sure you will be fine if jusg give the clinic a call jusg to make sure as there the fertility experts, I wouldn't want you to have interfered with the drugs.
