Just started IVF

I am currently on day 6 of injecting. Has anyone else suffered severe head aches and dizziness?

Feeling an emotional wreck today going to have a chat with my boss about working from home once I get the ok for extracting.

Hi charlott what drugs are you on? I'm on day 8 of stims and I felt like that a few days ago my heads been all over since I started so I decided to take the time off work

I'm not due in till Monday egg collection is this Friday but I know I'm going to be a nightmare during the 2ww as well x

I have been drinking loads of water but doesn't seem to make a difference 😭

I have an appointment Friday and they will decide if my eggs are ready to be extracted Monday.

How did you go around taking time off work? I am going to offer to work from home or be signed off.

Oh and the nurse told me drinking lots of water helps reduce the side effects x

Hi there, I did have awful headaches and felt emotional for like one day and then it passed loll. Your allowed to take paracetamol and drink plenty of water xxx

Literally this is now day 3 of head aches and dizziness.

Drinking loads of water and taking paracetamol.

I am an emotional wreck I never thought I would be this bad!

Have you been through this or going through this?

Did you take time off work at all?

Hey Hun I am actually going through ivf and my egg collection is probably this Friday! My headaches lasted all last week and it's day 12 of stimming. Iv been ok thee last two dayss. I haven't been emotional just get really tiredd. I am also taking two weeks off and my first week is special leave andd second leave is annual leave x

Oh I see,

I have to go in friday for a scan to see if my eggs are ready for extraction on Monday 21st

I thinking of taking two weeks off from the Monday

I have another scan tomorrow but on Monday the nurse said it's likely it will be Friday good luck to you!! X

No I'm still going to work now! Up until Friday and then I'm off for 2 weeks. My hospital is just 15 mins from my work so I can go to my appointment s before coming into work

I didn't managed to speak to my boss today but he promised to speak to me tomorrow with my hr manager. So fingers crossed they will support me.

Don't worry about that, my sister had headaches too during ivf but they lasted a week or so, then everything got ok, doctor at clinic shee was at said that i can happen and there is nothing to worry about.

Thank you, I am not worried. It's agunising and worry about driving as I feel faint and extremely dizzy.

I suffered with headaches but they they soon went, I just drank loads of water, and slept.

Doctors are really good at signing you off through ivf so just go to your doc if your struggling and take time off work. I wish you all the best with your cycle, try not to worry tho as everyone does suffer differently. Xx

I have never felt so alone until I found this site today. My partner is amazing but the emotional side he doesn't get, bless him.

Hope you managed to get the support from work. My wife is on day 6 of injections. So major issues to report ( as yet), just feeling bloated and tired. A few more scans to do before EC though.

My owner of the company decided to scream and swear at me and a colleague yesterday.

So I walked out and my partner picked me up. I have decided to sign myself off. I am not in any trouble as he was totally out of line. I have had one of the owners son ring me up asking me if they can do anything for me. And to defiantly take time out so I can relax and de stress.

Absolutely awful day yesterday but I have woken up feeling fresh.

I find out today if I am EC on Monday so fingers crossed it's all good.

How long has your wife got to inject for? As I am on a high dosage with a very short period of time.

Thats shocking from the owner.. I'm glad the son called. My wife is on a high dosage on a short protocol too. She started on 375IU, ( which is equivalent to 5 bottles of menapaur. However when she had a first scan after two days. Good number of follicles but they wer pretty tiny (as expected I guess) so they wanted her to up the dosage ( so on wedensday night, she had 6 bottles), today she will be attending another scan. She will be told either to continue but also quite possiable start taking the other injection ( I can't remember what that was was called.... begins with "C" though lol), this will be Taken in the morning., and continue with the high dosage of menapaur. Then they will just monitor the follicles I guess.

Hi Charlotte, looks like we're cycle buddies as my first scan is Fri for potential EC Monday onwards. I had 2 weeks of sever headaches and 3/4 days of dizziness/balance issues but nearly all during down regulation. In my case I can't rule out that it's just a cold though. It seems like all the winter bugs are appearing. Could you have a bit of something you've picked up? Keep that water going and good luck on Fri x

Are you on utrogestan? I was so dizzy I was unable to do anything and my head was really bad and when I spoke to the nurse she said it was the utrogestan and they decreased the dose slightly and it was all fine after

Aside from medecine effects it can also be stress, dont be too hard on yourself. Hope you will concieve sucsessfuly and have kids running all aroung your house. A lot of women cant carry a child and need to go to clinics for surrogacy, good that IVF works for you!

My sister had similar symptomes, and she was also a bit overemotional, i guess thats rather common case, just be patient to ypurself and people around you ok? Keep us up to date please, and make sure to tell doctor about it.
