Hi guys am new to this so here goes. My husband and I are all set to start the ivf process in about a month. They told us bits about the process but be great to hear peoples experiences of the process. I.e did you have side effects from the drugs, how did the operation go and most importantly did it work in getting pregnant?? Oh feeling excited but apprehensive 😊

Hi Chloe, firstly let me say good luck! It's an exciting time though of course full of so many feelings. I was lucky with the down reg phase as had no side effects really apart from feeling a little tired. I did bloat a lot when I started taking gonal-f. If you want to find out more about my experience have a look at my posts. I was very positive throughout the process and really recommend looking after yourself as much as you can. listen to your body. A positive attitude is a must! Wishing you all the luck in the world xx

Hey, welcome to the rollercoaster of emotions journey! I'm currently down reggin again at the mo, apart from feeling a little hot at night and tired it's not to bad. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for my healthy baby but keep positive and I'm sure you will get great support from this forum. Also you could have a few things for you and hubby to look forward to and act as distractions along the way it helps, as it can feel IVF is taking over your life. Wishing you lots of luck Xx

That's okay, yeah I think the not knowing is the most daunting bit well that's how I felt on my first cycle. Have they given you a date to start or anything?

Just thought I'd stop by and say Hi! My advice to you is to take each day as it comes. During treatment some days can feel like a mission to get through and some are absolutely fine...for no particular reason at all! I found down regging easy but stimming a bit of a nightmare (but I did get a sickness bug too) and remember everyone's different.

Tbh overall I didn't find the treatment half as bad as I imagined. The injections are a piece of p*ss (that's what I fretted about the most before starting)..and yes my 1st go failed but I couldn't wait to go again! 3mths after my bfn and 1 frozen cycle later...hey presto it worked...now 8wks pregnant. Just go with the flow...and appreciate the down moments as they make the ups even more special...

Good luck! πŸ€ πŸ€ πŸ€

Ps:- egg collection was fine too (bit scary when you first go in though!) You won't feel a thing but you might be sore/crampy for a few days afterwards. Again everyone is different...I couldn't walk (only shuffle) for 5 days after and watching me "do stairs" was comical! (other folk are back to work the next day)..still, it wasn't anything a bit of rest and lots of paracetomel didn't sort out xxx

Ah thanks!...We've been ttc for 5yrs but only started ivf in January 17 so I'm a relative new comer myself. You can't go wrong with this site though...these lovely ladies (and men) will get you through the bad days and help you keep a head on your shoulders! They've certainly kept me sane xxx
